Honestly he's outgrown WWE.
It's time he should focus on Hollywood.

Too much Cena hate on this thread. Looking forward to his return. I've enjoyed his work since 2011.
In a side note has anyone noticed that he looks like Steve from Steve and Larson these days?

Too much Cena hate on this thread. Over a decade of Super Cena will do that to people.

I miss him. He graduated to a point where him showing up meant something interesting, and that stopped, quickly. The thing that seemed bizarre to me was how quickly they made Cena seem like an added extra instead of the TV draw he still was. Last year’s Survivor Series, he was just...announced. Nobody chased for him or annoyed that they lost him, he just...entered the match. The BITW tournament, he just had a qualifying match and was put in there. Same with him teaming with Lashley against Elias and Owens. Same with him entering the Rumble. Like, I’m not expecting massive pagetry for when he enters the room or anything but it was shown for a while ratings went up when he was on TV and there hit a point where they don’t for almost anything.

The "Road to Wrestlemania" storyline pretty much killed him off as a merch shifting machine, which isn't surprising when he was booked as a washed up loser who more or less begged for The Undertaker to kick the crap out of him in New Orleans.
Dude isn't seen by the WWE as a star at all these days, and when he does appear on TV, I expect him to get jobbed out.

I'd love to see him as Bryan's Rumble opponent. They have great chemistry, and I think it'd be a fun match with Bryan in the crazy heel role.

Yeah, it was one of those things that could have been so good but I personally quickly didn’t care for when Cena was being a douche just for the sake of it and we as fans realised Taker couldn’t have a stellar match anymore. The fact Rusev got a good match from him in 2018 was a miracle and makes it mind boggling dude never got really rewarded for it. Also, and this is a minor nitpick on my behalf, right after the challenge promo, Braun showed up and said “I have no direction for WrestleMania” DIRECTLY AFTER Cena spent 5 minutes calling people out for a WM match. Braun, where the F*** were you for that time?! You killed him in a second at Elimination Chamber, do it at ‘Mania and it’s a bigger goddamn payday.

If he puts some wrestlers over that could use it, I'd love to have him back.
