The & used to be considered a 27th letter Ye was also a letter. It's pronounced like "the." Also the ſ is called a long S and is pronounced like the letter, not f.

Facts without a point are considered by many to be extremely pointless facts.

The plastic tips on shoelaces are called aglets, a word that my phone’s autocorrect doesn’t believe is real. And despite what The Question would have you think, their purpose is rather mundane.

Actual imdb.com trivia from that Paul W.S Anderson film Pompeii:
Paul W.S. Anderson's wife and frequent leading lady Milla Jovovich visited the set.
Glad I know this important piece of film history.

Bed bugs reproduce in a process known as “traumatizing reproduction” in which the male bed bud stabs the female with his dagger-like phallus to penetrate he carapace and ejaculate. Into the wound.

The word "Marshall" has quite a history. In the United States, officers of the United States Marshals Service are simply called Marshals (with one L). However, in Europe, the title "Field Marshall" is a high military rank, equivalent to a five-star general. And of course, it can also be a name, too, both first and last.
The term comes from olden Germanic languages, roughly "horse servant". As being the one in charge of a king's stable was quite important, the title rapidly became much more important.
And here's where things get interesting. The Chinese word "Sima", also translates to roughly the same title. And like Marshall, Sima became both a high-ranking military title and a surname.
