Not that long ago, things looked bleak for the future of Sheamus' career and it looked like he was done, with Cesaro carrying the matches. He get better, I assume?

Wrestling is filled with people who should retire, or at least go on hiatus, but don't, and keep on until their body suddenly gives out, look at Arn, Edge, Orndorff and such. Sheamus could be held together with sticky tape but as long as someone will clear him, he'll keep at it because the money is good.

Best I can tell is it's something where it came out he has an injury that'll be the end of his career someday and everyone just immediately jumped to, "He's practically already out the door," even though Edge continued to work on it for years before it finally caught up to him.

Yeah, my understanding is that he’s been diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which is what ended both Edge and Sting’s careers, among others. I think that’s what caused all the exaggerated reports of his forced retirement - this injury HAS caused sudden retirements in the past. It’s one of those things where you can continue working if you can manage the pain, but you’re always running the risk of a bump gone wrong causing serious complications. I think that’s probably why Sheamus has settled in as a tag guy who isn’t the workhorse. As long as he’s cleared to compete and can manage the pain, he’ll continue to work, but you have to figure he doesn’t have too terribly much longer left.

I was just thinking of this his morning too. If the diagnosis is true he’s playing with fire.

Well, in Edge's case, I think he'd have retired way sooner had he known how dire his neck was.

I think he's settled into what Matt Hardy was doing with Bray Wyatt, let Cesaro do most of the work in the matches and he can tag in and hit his big moves.

I imagine it's the usual game of Wrestling Newz Telephone.
"Sheamus' back isn't in great shape right now." "Sheamus' back is totally f***ed." "Sheamus' back is ruined and he needs time off." "Sheamus is going to retire any minute now."

I wasn't the biggest Sting fan but I was sad he went out that way especially considering he could have maybe a couple of more "safe" matches left in him.

It's the same thing Edge has, spinal stenosis. Judging Meltzer's reports on it through the past year Sheamus can work through it but it's shortening his career as he gets older as it does other guys. So basically Sheamus is gonna probably hang it up years from now. The thing with Sheamus though is he's got his Celtic Workout system and he's already 40 so by the time he hangs it up he'll be at the right age to hang it up rather than wrestling in his 50s.

Sheamus is still on a ticking clock that hasn’t changed
People just jumped to conclusions thinking he was done this minute but their is no doubt his wrestling career is on the back end

What the hell is this? Madison isn't allowed to have questions, he's the guy that provides US with all the obscure answers.

Always liked the guy. Got tired of him at times, but he is an excellent hand to have.
