Alexa what was the most notable hit of 90s alternative rock band, The Cranberries I completely agree, it's in the second segment of the debut episode where Sandman swung a cane to Salvation.

The moment they brought it back and Vince wouldn't get out of Heyman's way, and WWE-ized it.

The aforementioned Zombie, The Originals/New Blood feud that had CM punk in the middle of it & didn’t mean really anything. Kevin Thorn & Shelly Martinez’s Vampire stuff.
What was great was Doo-Rag Vince ECW champion.

Honestly nothing has been able to compete with Christian's ECW Title run era of the show.
If you have a show with only 10 wrestlers - you don't make anyone a jobber or midcarder and the show was able perfectly find balance in making every single person on the roster a threat to Christian. I wish they did the same thing with NXT and to a smaller extent 205 Live.

The main thing I remember about 2006 ECW was Ariel climbing onto the announce table, Joey Styles starting freaking out about "This woman having fangs" while Tazz was just sat there like "Yeah I know".

I'd forgot about Do rag Vince.
That was great.

I'm watching the final WWECW episode, the last ECW title match is enjoyable but Saxton and Josh Matthews are literally the worst commentary duo I've ever heard. They could not care less about the match and don't describe anything going on.
I can't believe these two dorks were ever employed.

I'd say the December 2 Dismember 2006 PPV, that was a hot mess and I actually ordered that PPV in the hopes that Punk or RVD would win, those hopes were dashed very quickly.

It started off awful and wasn't ECW. But then when they stopped trying to be ECW Lite it became a great show. It's a great example of the old rule: "If Vince doesn't personally care about a particular show, it will become by far the most entertaining show the WWE has." There is an exception to this, though. 205 Live was a much more entertaining show when Vince was booking it.

I have to agree that it never should have been revived as a brand in the first place. The first one night stand show was great and they should have left it there as a nice little nostalgia tribute - and done one more show (called something else) as a vehicle for RVD to finally win the big one.
If they were insisting on reviving it, the brand died when it stopped being about ECW originals and about WWE guys. So RVD’s title reign ending the way it did really was the beginning of the end even if it took a while for it to finally be dropped.

I think there were a few issues mostly with expectations.
1) Fans expected all of the ECW guys to come running at the offer (I remember people on this board gleefully saying the ECW Revival meant the death of TNA)
2) In WWE they couldnt/wouldnt hide the weaknesses of some of the ECW guys the way Heyman did. Some I get some I dont.
3) Poor roster decisions to initially start the brand. Not sure if they were somehow shocked that the ECW originals outside of Sabu and RVD were not great in the ring or not, but once Angle got fired they lacked a good roster for awhile.

I think also that the main problem was the ecw originals. Other than RVD and maybe Sabu, the ecw originals were fat, crippled, and junkies.

I mean I was very interested in it until the fall of 06. I thought the beginning months weren't bad. Then it started to feel less and less like ECW, and December to dismember was the tipping point.

It all started going bad around Episode... 1. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} To be fair I think the zombie was meant to be tongue in cheek. In the weeks leading up to the launch of ECW there were rumours swirling around that Sci-Fi would make WWE incorporate science fiction characters, so in response to that every week they'd have The Sandman beat the shit out of one of these types of characters to I guess try and show that wasn't the case. Of course on the same episode they also hyped up an unironic wrestling vampire so yeah......
