Triple H vs. AJ Styles. Get hyped. Both guys might be winding up their WWE careers, and putting on the mark glasses for a moment. AJ Styles vs. Triple H is a dream match. Not really. Triple H, with his "BIGGEST BADASS EVUURR-AH!" style, chews up people and spits them out. Dude is not brilliant at putting people over and while AJ is an excellent wrestler, he'll probably be eaten up too.
And what is there to be gained from beating a dude in the twilight of his career? It's not going to elevate AJ any more.

HHH definitely is, but I really don't get where people think AJ Styles is going to be retiring soon, dude's still one of the best wrestlers on the planet, he has no reason to hang it up and he doesn't seem like he's gonna for awhile yet

Personally I think with the fact he's been a good hand to Vince for the duration he's been with the company (especially around TLC/Survivor Series last year), they'll pay the man whatever he wants even on a reduced schedule to keep him around for as long as possible. Not saying AJ wouldn't hang them up sooner than later to enjoy his family in their growing stages, but as long as he can still go at the quality levels he can, there's no reason for him to ride off into the sunset just because a few hints became "SHOOTS HARD ON LEAVING WWE!" nonsense.

Only half-joking, but I think it's because AJ grew his hair out that Vince likes him so much.

I got a few issues with this first I think it would have been better if they actually built to this over a few weeks and not have randomly in their first onscreen segment together on a Christmas show AJ attacks his elderly boss.
It’s been a long time since one of these wrestler beats up Vince angles led to anything good in 2009 Orton attacked him and we got that horrible HHH feud,in 2013 Brock attacked him and it led to that horrible HHH feud continuation and last year Owens attacked him randomly and it led to the continuation of that horrible Shane feud. Its not 97/98 anymore and this type of stuff has been done to death with Vince over the last 20 years it really comes across like in the writers room they have a box on the wall that says “In case of emergency break glass & attack Vince”.

Yeah, I'm fairly confident AJ is gonna end up signing another 3 year deal, but for around 100 dates a year like Daniel Bryan. He's at his money making peak right now, so if he can get the schedule he wants I'm sure he'll stick around.

Oh, we're falling for this again are we? It's so frustrating how Vince can just show up, have a segment where someone decks him and everyone forgets that the McMahons being all over the show at the expense of unused talent is a major problem with the WWE. This didn't work for Owens, and AJ doesn't need it either. It did work for Owens considering it got him buzz. I don’t understand why most think that the McMahon’s being on TV is their doing bc THEY STILL TOTALLY HAVE EGOS GUYS. It’s been known that USA is mainly the reason why they keep going to back to the well of authority figures. And on top of that, it’s not like they never get their comeuppance. 1) Vince punched styles to bring out the animal in him. styles punched Vince and Vince loved it. 2) Stephanie got rekd by Ronda multiple times and was humiliated by Roman a few times. 3) Triple H has been beaten and gotten his comeuppance many times in the past. 4) The only one who hasn’t is Shane, and that’s only because he’s a babyface. Many talent have benefited from working with the McMahon’s as to the casual viewer it’s perceived as a big deal. I get that WWE has led us to be super pessimistic, but it’s better to simply let things be and give angles a chance rather than shit all over them after one segment or one show.

Lets look at Hunter's matches in the last few years...
Lost to Bryan, putting him over strong. Lost to The Shield twice as part of Evolution, putting them over strong. Lost to Roman, putting him over strong. Lost to Seth, putting him over strong. Lost to Kurt and Ronda, putting Ronda over strong. He didn't even get his win back off Cena at the Greatest Rumble.
When he did win the title, it was at the Rumble and done so Roman could beat the big bad at Mania.
When Hunter was full time, he won a lot, but he was one of the main men. When it comes to feuds now, he loses and it still matters. A feud with AJ would be great, the match would be great and AJ would go over.

I do hope that this is just leading to Bryan/AJ but with a stipulation involved. Most think he’s possibly headed to Raw to slay the beast. In my opinion, that moment should go to Seth.

The sexual tension was off-the-charts. AJ's got a bear-skin rug appointment in his future...

We might eventually see Ambrose/Styles again except with their alignments turned. Styles needs to be a Grand Slam Champion so he needs to win the IC and tag titles next. Makes sense.

Stephanie did lose to Ronda and get humiliated by Roman but, she has basically made every single other Male superstar she's worked with look like a gutless chump. Others who have feuded with the mcmahon's have gone nowhere. Remember Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and the third guy who was "fired" after the authority was brought back before being put in nothing programs. Owen's got a bump initially by hurting Vince but then he could barely handle Shane with help.

How many seals of approval is needed before people realize Vince puts AJ on a pedestal and has treated him like royalty from jump
- Gets the stare down with Roman on his 1st night - Beats Cena clean in his 1st year in WWE and wins the WWE title later in the year - Gets the match with a Mcmahon at Mania - Wins the WWE title again and gets the match with Brock - Holds the title for a year in which they had chances to take it off him but they gave him the WWE/Vince face title run - Now this, with him putting his hands on Vince
