63. Shaft (2019) As an action comedy, it has its moments. In fact, I saw that the movie didn't take itself seriously, like how the 2000 film did. I had fun with it. I also liked the dynamic between Sam Jackson and Jesse T. Usher, especially with their differences.
64. Toy Story 4 (2019) There hasn't been a bad movie in this franchise and this is no exception. It had an interesting story this time around, especially with Bo Peep playing a bigger role than she did in the first two. I would give this 5 stars.

Downsizing - I’m not a huge fan of quirky ‘comedies’ where people try to act normal while strange and wacky situations pop up around them. And then it runs a good half hour longer than it should and just sort of ends without wrapping up most of the open plot lines.

148. Mothra vs. Godzilla. This one was pretty boring. It was f***ing tripped out too. The two little Egg Girls/messagers of Mothra were weird ass shit. Godzilla was a f***ing klutz. He got his tail stuck in a tower then pulled it over onto himself. Then he slipped and fell in a hole. Best part of this one was Yuriko Hoshi, she was really pretty. And the battle scenes between Mothra and Godzilla are surprisingly well done.

149. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. This was more enjoyable then the last one but it didn’t hold my attention well at all. Freddy was (purposely) funnier, the violence was more explicit and overall it was more creative than part 2. The “puppet scene” was really cool. But I’m still just watching these because I’m unemployed and I have nothing else to do with my time.

#175 - Julie & Julia
Though it can be boring at times, this is a mostly enjoyable movie led by strong acting and a charming concept. [***½]

150. The Secret Life of Pets. I honestly did not like this movie but when I’m faced with the choice between watching this or watching Boss Baby I’d watch this.

151. Cannibal Holocaust. ... Wow. This movie was f***ing intense. The first forty-five minutes is pretty tame (except the muskrat scene, which is very disturbing) but once they start going through all the “found footage” it gets brutal. The turtle scene is one of the most disgusting things I’ve seen in my life. But then there’s the burning of the villagers scene and the raping and killing of the one native girl, which are disturbing as well.. Thing is the people in the found footage are such pieces of garbage that I enjoyed seeing them get torn to shreds. They’re move “savage” than the natives, which I’m pretty sure is the point of the entire movie. It wasn’t hard to see how people thought this was a snuff film. The violence was off the charts. The music was incredible. I enjoyed it but I don’t think I’ll be watching it again anytime soon. It’s just as brutal as it’s been made out to be but it’s really not scary. You’ll just feel dirty after watching it.

152. Alien: Covenant. I really liked Prometheus. Yeah it didn’t hold a candle to Alien or Aliens but I like the mythos behind the movies and exploring the genesis of it. So I don’t know why I sat on this for as long as I did. It’s pretty boring for the most part but music is really cool during the build to the climax of the second act. The characters are kinda stupid, some of the dialogue was bad (too many unnecessary uses of “f***”) and the CGI is crap. “Obi-Wan David” is kinda stupid too, as is main girl who isn’t really the main girl’s haircut. And my God the one Xenomorph birth with David acting as the Xenomorphs “motherly figure” was almost as stupid as that part with Ripley and the hybrid-thing in Alien: Resurrection. Really, it’s not very good at all. The longer it goes the worse it gets. I hated the lead actress so much. “Comparisons to Ripley” Maybe how she’s terrible in every way Ripley was not. But I liked this and still want more movies exploring the Xenomorph mythos. Hopefully a better movie next time. This was so f***ing bad. Ultimately I really couldn’t give this movie the attention I would’ve liked though because of the movie I just watched before it (Cannibal Holocaust).

153. Ebirah, Horror of the Deep. This one was really boring. Even though there are four monsters in it (Godzilla, Ebirah, Mothra and Rodan) they’re barely in it. But I think it would have been a better movie if the monsters had have been removed from it entirely. But then I doubt I would have watched it.The only memorable thing is the hilarious English dubbing of the one guy’s voice, Godzilla picking his nose and the surf music with makes every fight scene look like a dance number.

154. Godzilla vs. Gigan. This one was MUCH better. Gigan is a badass monster. And probably forty percent on this movie was battle, which also included King Ghidorah and Anguirus (who’s f***ing useless). The battle is strange though because it flip flops from super serious (with great music) to slapstick silliness. I didn’t pay much attention to the human storyline.

155. Cannibal Holocaust. I don’t know if there’s something wrong with me but this movie, the music and it’s imagery stuck with me all day so I needed to watch it again to hopefully get it out of my head.

156. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: the Dream Master. This wasn’t very good for the first hour. It was at least better than part 2 but that’s not saying much. I’m really questioning how this franchise got so popular? It must have just been the merchandising of Freddy Krueger? Freddy was at least in this one a lot, maybe as much as the other movies combined. And he’s finally pretty funny. Toy Newkirk was pretty hot. And I like the darker, grittier, reddish colouring. The last half hour was pretty good though. The girl turning into a bug was pretty rad.

#176 - Spider-Man (2002)
I thought this was great when it first came out. It doesn’t hold up at all and has been surpassed by several later Spider-Man. There are things that work but a lot completely misses the mark. [***]
#177 - I, Tonya
Biopics tend to be familiar and sway towards one side of the story. I, Tonya brilliantly turns that on its head. They tell this story from information gathered through several channels and allows the viewer to form their own opinion. The acting is fantastic, the direction is great and the creative storytelling aspects are stellar. [****]

Fist Fight— Awful. A few decent jokes.
Grown Ups— Not even sure this is a movie. There’s no plot. Adam Sandler hangs out with his friends.
Role Models— Good movie. Funny.

157. Cannibal Ferox. Another day. Another castration. Another turtle getting disembowelled. This just seems like a rip-off of Cannibal Holocaust. The human violence is a little more graphic but also a little cheesier. This is like so many Italian giallo/horror movies I’ve been watching where Cannibal Holocaust is in a whole other league.

30) 2019-06-23 "Supervixens" - 1975Directed by Russ Meyer. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Story: After a fight with his wife SuperAngel, Clint (Charles Pitts) gets drunk at a bar while SuperAngel (Shari Eubank) is brutally murdered by impotent cop Harry Sledge (Charles Napier, "Rambo", "The Blues Brothers", "Philadelphia"). Framed, Clint goes on the run and has several encounters with very busty women... felt up and mugged by SuperCherry (Colleen Brennan) and her boyfriend (John LaZar, Z-Man in "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"), jumped by insatiable farmer's wife SuperSoul (Uschi Digard), tricked by mute SuperEula (Deborah McGuire)... until he meets SuperVixen (Shari Eubank again) and they fall in love. Just in time for a chance meeting with Harry Sledge again, who tries to kill both Clint and SuperVixen.
I was expecting nothing but a softcore booby flick with top-heavy women in ill-fitting clothing in comedic sexual situations. I was not expecting the first half hour and the murder of SuperAngel to be as uncomfortable as it was, it seemed to take forever in an unsettling way.
After that, about 45 minutes of big booby action and silly comedy. Loved that part.
Then it gets to the end with Harry kidnapping SuperVixen and staking her to the ground on a desert plateau, throwing lit dynamite at Clint and shouting about being a man... it gets weird and over-the-top at the end but it does have a happy ending.
Notes of note: - Charles Napier also co-produced the movie - Russ Meyer also has a thing about Nazis... there's a German gas station owner at the beginning of the movie named Martin Bormann - Haji from "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" has a bit part as topless bartender SuperHaji - Shari Eubank appeared in only two movies, this and "Chesty Anderson, USN" - a character from Meyer's earlier movie "Vixen!" has a quick appearance - Christy Hartburg, the woman on the poster, only appears at the beginning as SuperLorna, a customer at the gas station Clint works at, and her flirtatious nature is what starts the whole fight between Clint and SuperAngel. She also appeared in movies and on TV as Christina Cummings.
Tough first act, fun middle, wacko ending.
