167: Curse of Bigfoot (1976?) *1/2, the Cinema Snob episode about Curse of Bigfoot is better then the actual film itself, this film Curse of Bigfoot was another attempt to lengthen an existing movie for TV, in this case, it's the 1958 film Teenagers Battle the Thing which is way too short for a Two Hour (with commercials) runtime, hence an half hour of new footage was shot to get the film to fit an 2-Hour (with commercials) slot on local tv stations

#324 - Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith
Easily the best of the prequels. There are still issues, like how quickly the turn for Anakin was, the way Padme dies, and some of the acting. But there are some great special effects and action sequences here. The final fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan is arguably the best in series history. A very enjoyable entry. [***½]

141. Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade - A Hallmark movie that takes place around Thanksgiving time but is pretty much a Christmas movie. Predictable fluff if I ever saw it, especially in a romantic comedy. The plot involves a woman who is with this guy who is out of town. The woman is also planning a Thanksgiving parade. She meets this hunky rich guy who wants to buy land. They don't get along at first but you know that they'll get together. Also, the woman's current boyfriend turns out to be jerk. You get the idea. But other than that, I did feel the chemistry between the two leads. I kind of enjoyed it. Predictable, yes, but entertaining as a cute and fluffy holiday TV movie.

#325 - White Bird in a Blizzard
Whenever I see anything with Shailene Woodley, I’m blown away by how good she is. She’s fantastic here once again and carries a script that lacks at points. The mystery is engaging enough, which keeps it interesting. [***]

142. Christmas Bells Are Ringing - Another Hallmark Christmas movie. Just a heads up, I will likely be watching more of these before the end of the year, along with Lifetime Christmas movies (As well as maybe some of the other Lifetime movies). They might increase my number, for all we know. Anyway, what do you expect from a Hallmark Christmas movie? Although this wasn't as fluffy as the other one I watched today, it still had its level of fluff and cheese. The plot was actually interesting and while the ending was predictable, there were some bits with the writing that were different and they worked. Plus, I liked the chemistry between the two leads and their connection worked because they were childhood friends, rather than people who knew each other for such a short amount of time and only fell for each other in that amount of time. Recommended for those who like those Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas movies.

276. Curious George. A harmless, forgettable movie. The big stand out is the very nice art style.

278. The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey. If there were ever a textbook examples of movies that didn’t need to be and Hollywood greed its the Hobbit trilogy. I liked this first one upon its release but watching it now with the two sequels having been released is tough. They tried way too hard and failed in the shadow of the first series. There are still some parts I like. The Dwarves singing the Lonely Mountain song is really awesome. Balin and Bofur are always nice whenever they’re on screen. And I still tear up when I see Frodo at the beginning.

#326 - High School Musical 2
The musical numbers are just as fun, as are some of the characters. But the story hits too many tropes to stand out. It feels like a step down from the original. [**½]

279. Demons 2. I can’t say that this is better than the original. If there were ever a case of two movies being complete equals and both 10/10’s it’s Demons and Demons 2. A lot of gory fun with a great soundtrack. Bobby Rhodes steals the movie again as the macho-ist of machismos. The only bad thing is the dumb demon puppet towards the end. It’s no Baby Yoda. The entire flow of the movie changes from there in but everything before it is so cool, especially the build to the demons arriving.

66) Playing With Fire
WAY more of a kids movie than I thought. Still had some fun scenes, but I am definitely not the target demographic.
67) Jojo Rabbit. Really fun, whimsical take on the dying days of Nazi Germany. Managed to tow the line between a whimsical farce and a serious look at the Hitler Youth very effectively. Didn’t come to my town yet, had to go an hour away to see it. If you have a chance to, you should go.

281. The Green Inferno. Imagine Cannibal Holocaust meets Dawson’s Creek. Ultra brutal violence against a bunch of stupid ass people who you don’t care about. Is the point of these movies to make me smile when the protagonists start getting off’d? Even worse, Sky Ferreira stays in the Hamptons (or whenever these dweebs are from) and doesn’t meet an unsavoury fate. I hated the four in Cannibal Holocaust but for different reasons. The people in Cannibal Holocaust were terrible people who deserved everything they got and more. The people in this were just annoying idiots who were so stupid that it was funny to see them end up the way they did. This was torture until the plane went down. Then I was happy. They did “Cannibal” a lot more justice than the movie it was based off of. It’s nowhere near as shocking as Cannibal Holocaust and doesn’t stick with you quite the same but it does it’s job. On the plus side: all the natives are clothed and these are no scenes of extreme sexual violence. I liked it.

282. Evils of the Night. This could have been really cool if it had of delivered in any of its promises, like aliens, vampirism... ...or a two-cockpitted Millennium Falcon. Bad acting, bad hair, bad script, gratuitous nudity; pretty much everything I want in a bad 1980’s low budget movie except gore. The two old guys in the mechanic shop who were working for the aliens were pretty awesome. And it was pretty funny that the aliens went to a college town to abduct college students but their research team didn’t take summer vacation into account, leaving them in a town almost barren of college students. Terrible but for all the wrong reasons.

283. Forbidden World. Sci-Fi horror isn’t something I watch too much but when I find a good one I’m really happy. This was a good slab of early 1980’s science fiction horror. Gratuitous nudity and some wicked gore, plus a cheesy yet well done alien parasite. The sex does get a little redundant towards the middle but it comes back from it. Nothing original (said parasite terrorizes a small group on a remote space base) but it was awesome thanks to the gore and soundtrack. And the hot girls. It was very short though (only seventy-seven minutes) so that’s good and bad. More good. I never got bored. I need more movies like this and Demons 2.

#327 - The Hustle
Despite two funny leads, this movie didn’t make me laugh a single time. It is just about as bad as it looked in the trailers. [*]
#328 - The Fox and the Hound
For my money, it’s the most underrated Disney animated classic of all time. It’s a heartwarming movie about friendship that just hits every emotional button that it needs to. Great voice acting, music, and a fantastic tale. [****½]

Captain Marvel - finally got around to seeing it, enjoyable but not spectacular, Larson and Jackson had good chemistry.
Feet The Movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - loved this, QT regularly delivers as far as I'm concerned, Pitt and DiCaprio had amazing chemistry while Margot Robbie didn't have an amazing amount to do she shone too, some fun small roles too such as Dakota Fanning and Bruce Dern.
