A tweet gets it out of the way. A video makes it seem like a WAY bigger deal than it was. It’s a movie and only that. Everyone's got their own flavor, That was his. I mean...cool, fine. I thought he looked like an attention seeker doing that instead of a simple tweet or statement or something to not overblow what was essentially a remake of a movie people liked.

I thought he looked like an attention seeker doing that instead of a simple tweet or statement or something to not overblow what was essentially a remake of a movie people liked. He was asked many times by a sizeable fan base for his thoughts. Had he just sent a tweet, he would have been equally deluged with requests for more details. He took care of it in a concise, respectful way that in no way disparaged the film coming out, and Patton Oswald and his ilk called him a sexist anyways.

I still think that the cast from the 40-Year Old Virgin would have been perfect. Carrell: Ray Rudd: Peter Rogen: Egon Malco: Winston Mann: Janine Banks: Dana Apatow could direct. I thought all of those people had great chemistry. Script would be three pages long. The rest would be improv.

From what I understand that's not much different then the original movie, at least for Bill Murray.

To the point that I actually heard a story about how he'd ad-libbed so much of his dialogue that Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis considered giving him credit as a co-writer.

It helped that Murray, Aykroyd and Ramis had worked extensively together in previous projects so knew exactly how to bounce off each other perfectly. The improv came from all of them, but the core concept was there and they were able to help keep things really tight. The problem with the reboot was it lacked a strong grip of the director and other stars to help pull the humour and concept together in the best manner.

And becomes more evident watching the behind-the-scenes footage. There’s no cohesion. It’s not sharp. In medical terms the pacing is all “loosey-goosey”.

I've heard other people say that was a rumor and Ramis just knew Murray's humor so well most of Peters lines were scripted.

Sounds like an absolute dumpster fire already. Nothing I hate more in movies than precocious meddling kids.

After 2 and a half years ago, this is must-win in order to salvage.

After 2 and a half years ago, this is must-win in order to salvage. Not really. It's a different movie aimed at a different audience. It's not aimed at men like the first movie. It's not aimed at feminists like the 2016 movie. It's aimed at kids like the second movie pretty much was.

Sony's decision to turn GB into men vs women bullshit is definitely one of the stupidest and most pointlessly self defeating decisions in movie production history.

Leslie Jones and Paul Feig aren't taking this well, apparently. www.dreadcentral.com/news/288280/paul-feig-supports-leslie-jones-offers-his-own-opinion-of-upcoming-ghostbusters-3/I am looking forward to this, but I also dread all things Ghostbusters now. I don't care if it was men, women, or children, that last movie wasn't great and it was an absolute embarrassing shit-storm. And as far as James Rolfe, I honestly don't think he realized how some would take that video. He seems completely apolitical and probably just wanted to put that video out there so everyone would stop asking him about it. He doesn't even mention the "THEY'RE ALL WOMEN!" thing once in the video. The real pathetic part of that was how everyone went after him over it, notably Patton Oswalt. Dude's wife had just died and he decided the best thing to do with his time is to bully a grown man who yells at video games because he didn't want to watch a remake of a movie he liked.
