The big one for me is Roddy Piper at WM5. I love Piper before he went to Hollywood, but something happened between WM3 and WM5 where instead of being the old Piper who was off the cuff and didn't give a shit, he became convinced that he was the Mark Twain of wrestling. Everything he did from WM5 forward bordered on cringe for me.
Babyface Macho from '93-'95 was sometimes rough as well. He went from lovable psycho to Nikelodeon kids game show host.

Zack Ryder: THAT promo. Could have been his breakout moment but instead it was "Oh....well that's your peak and you were lucky to get that.

I thought the Bullet Club stopped being cool after AJ, Gallows, and Anderson left. I’m a big fan of the individual performers in The Elite, but I think all of their infighting really dragged down the appeal of the BC on the whole. I do like the latest version, though, because Jay White is great, I like Fale’s new gimmick and batshit crazy GOD are fun.

Surprised nobody mentioned this yet. You could feel any chance Billy Gunn had of being a name in the business evaporate the minute he came out to "Ass Man" and his entire gimmick became "obsessed with ass, his own or otherwise". And that was BEFORE The Rock committed his one and only bona fide burial of another talent on the guy.

MVP when he turned Face.
Dude was the coolest guy on the roster to me as a kid. I thought he could have been the top heel in the company.... and then he turned Face. And my god was he lame. His cockiness and swagger was completely gone. He even cut the sleeves off his attire which looked TERRIBLE and to top it off, it was bright red.
Having said that, he was still over as a face. You could argue he was still worthy of a push... but that one time when he said “Sit down, relax and enjoy the view because the VIP Lounge is for people like me and you”... I died a little bit on the inside. How did a guy so cool become so f***ing cheesy?
Oh and he lost the US Title to Kofi Kingston one time and smiled afterwards as if to say “You got me.”... this was a guy who had a reputation for being a piece of shit heel. Come on WWE. Give me some continuity. He should have turned back heel at this point.

Anyone who's mean to fans or did anything else nefarious, of course.
But if we're sticking in kayfabe...didn't STOP liking Austin and Rock, but when they became full-fledged faces they kind of lost their edge to me, and became a bit flanderized. Happens a lot when they turn popular heels.

I wonder who that woman was, like some random unattractive heavy set woman or if it was an employee's wife, backstage or wrestler.

What makes you think that? Just curious, since we've never established who she is. I can surely see Vince McMahon or one of his cronies picking some guys overweight unattractive wrestler wife out to embarrass not just her but also Billy Gunn.

I can surely see Vince McMahon or one of his cronies picking some guys overweight unattractive wrestler wife out to embarrass not just her but also Billy Gunn. Well, in fairness, I have absolutely zero evidence for my viewpoint, so please do believe what you wish. But my thoughts are: 1. Wrestlers in '99 were making shitloads of bank everywhere on the card, I don't think any one of them would need the money enough to let their partner/wife/sister/whoever go out and be treated like a meat object like that poor woman was. 2. Most non-wrestling characters that show up on WWE TV will be wrestlers if they need to take a bump. If they don't, many of them are still wrestlers like Ciampa or Chelsea Green. The rest of them will usually be actors, because that's actually going to be way easier logistically to get a paid professional in for than to ask some random to do it, because the things that are asked of wrestlers are certifiably insane. For the role this woman had to play, finding someone who would voluntarily do it rather than being hired in just to do that, it'd just be easier. Someone you actually know will have self-worth, boundaries, things they will express to you as lines they won't cross. An actor is WAY more likely to do what they're told, especially given then even more than now, a woman that looks like that is not going to get many roles that don't have the word 'fat' in their character name somewhere. 3. I think the use of Nicholas at Mania may have skewed some viewpoints, but he was a 10-year-old boy, that was a rare example where the EASIEST way to make that work is to use someone the company knows. 4. Everyone who has ever worked in catering in WWE has had a shoot interview with Highspots or some shit. If she was related to a wrestler in some way, it would come up every time she was referenced on this forum, because that's kinda how this place works.

All of what you said would make me believe it was just a woman hired. They probably did get an actress though I can see a creative meeting where Vince McMahon mentions an employee's wife as his choice only to do that har har har har laugh of his.
