WWE 24 in on the TV right now, and it’s one of the most insulting and propagandistic pieces of horseshit this company has ever produced.
They made it seem as if the crowd was totally into the match and that the crowd was genuinely bummed that Roman lost. They also showed Brock throwing the belt at McMahon in the Gorilla position and McMahon screaming “asshole” at him, which was somewhat amusing. It’s a bit bizarre that they showed it though, because why would Brock be angry at Vince according to the narrative that the company was trying to spin here? Then they showed Roman tearing up backstage, obviously dejected at how the crowd reacted to him. But again, they didn’t acknowledge the crowd reaction.
I’m rooting for Roman to recover from his illness, and I hope that he can have a good run once he returns, but this crap doesn’t help him. It’s downright insulting to the millions of people who watched that match live.
So I’m not completely a Negative Nancy, I will say that I enjoyed the Rumble. It was too long, but it was definitely a fun show. It was actually what I came here to talk about until that segment came on and I had to vent.

Came here to post about this particular clip. Angry Brock walking backstage and throwing the belt at Vince opened the documentary to hook us. The same clip runs near the end, with absolutely no context or explanation. There was no hint or payoff. It was just a compelling brief clip out of nowhere. Did Richard Kelly direct this? Does anyone know exactly why Brock was pissed?

Yeah I actually rewound it to make sure I saw it right and then....nothing. I'd say it's a work, but there's nothing to work to. Then again, why even show the it?

It must’ve been because he felt embarrassed and humiliated that the crowd rejected the match and blamed Vince for putting him in that situation, and he just handled it like an immature baby. I don’t think there’s any other reasonable explanation.

There were some Meltzer reports around then that Lesnar threw the title after the match so I guess that was it.

Lesnar throws the damn belt at his boss in a fit of petulant rage, yet it’s Reigns who apparently disrespects the belt with the way he carries it on his shoulder.

Brock didn’t throw the belt at Vince. Brock gave Vince a championship opportunity.

I assume this is a snarky dig at people who criticize Reigns for the way that he carries the belt? They’re not mutually exclusive, so there’s no reason that they can’t both be disrespectful. And it’s not like people don’t bitch at Brock every single day on this board for being lazy and checked out.

Yeah, remember the next ngiht Roman said something like well you got a new contract and no one told me! like that should make a lick of damned difference in Kayfabe.

This is when they were running with the whole meta kayfabe thing really hard. Maybe I’m too much of mark and fell for it, but I honestly think it was legit. Brock looked genuinely shaken up and embarrassed when the crowd chanted “this is awful” towards the end of the match. After the match, he fairly robotically does a pose when he turns around to stare at Roman and then just storms up the ramp looking like he just wants to get the hell out of there. His body language indicated that he was genuinely livid so this blow-up backstage makes sense. This just isn’t the kind of work they tend to do, especially given that they didn’t even acknowledge it on television until now. And even then, they just showed it on some Network special without context. I think they just had interesting footage of a legit occurrence and wanted to show it to get some people talking.

I think a lot of people involved like Heyman were planting this idea that Lesnar just did not want to lose and decided for himself just like against Taker (unrealistic as hell but there are youtube videos out there with Heyman even dicussing this) . The scene with Vince and Lesnar could be another reason for that, they probably dropped it when they realised how dumb it is.

Heyman said in an interview years ago that Brock enjoys performing and (obviously) the money, just hates the travel. They probably just play up the shit about him only being there for the money to get heat.
