I had the tremendous opportunity to see an October 2016 NXT House Show where he faced Aries, and it was absolutely stellar. Just fantastic. Shame they didn't get to do anything on TV.
It's wild that he's been with WWE for FIVE years. I was loving his pairing with Ariya and thought it was the perfect thing for both of them, so I'm bummed it's over.
Really hope he finds himself wherever he goes.

One of the best pops I’ve ever experienced was when he busted out the G2S at NXT San Jose WrestleMania weekend. Can’t believe it was so many years ago now...

OT a bit so bear with me, how many contracted wrestlers does WWE currently have? 240. Might drop down depending on how you count managers that wrestle occasionally (Maverick, Vega, Maria) and McMahon family. That's bloated WCW levels.

I’ve figured that because of injuries Nakamura got his spot...which he’s probably thankful for.

Crazy to think if he hadn't gotten injured, he would have defeated Kevin Owens for the NXT title at Beast in the East in summer 2015.
Makes you wonder what he and Finn's trajectory would have been.

Not a shock, figured it would happen sooner or later, hope he can get some fire back wherever he goes next

Considering Finn seemed to headed for a heel turn on Itami, especially with the mystery assault, who knows? It’s just a shame he took so long to return that any possible suspect was already on the main roster by the time Hideo returned.

I wonder where he will end up? probably back in NOAH, or maybe in NJPW if they wanna throw money at him.

At least he got to be around long enough to get some action figures. Did he make it into any of the games?

Yeah, he made it into the last four WWE 2k games.
As everyone is saying, just a really unfortunate case of bad timing, bad injuries and being left behind the curve. I wish him the best whatever he does next.

I wonder if we will ever see this version of KENTA again? I really hope so, this KENTA was so f***ing awesome.

That sucks, I've always been a huge fan and thought Hideo fit well in the company, but injuries constantly at the worst time to derail any momentum, I can't blame either side here. I hope he'll be back eventually.

Best of luck to him. it didn't work out. Not his fault. And cause of the injuries I can't really be too hard on the WWE either on this one.

As mentioned, he just a terrible run of bad luck over the past few years and I think it's for the best they part ways for now, maybe he'll be back later down the line.

I wonder where he will end up? probably back in NOAH, or maybe in NJPW if they wanna throw money at him. That could end up being interesting; you have to think his first loyalty will always be to NOAH, but with the new regime in charge and NJPW becoming a more attractive home for veterans of the puro scene who want to make good money without leaving home (Ishimori, Shingo) I'm sure New Japan will at least make a play for him. I just hope he goes wherever he feels best and does what he does best, it's such a shame how wasted he's been these past few years...no, not blaming anybody for his injuries, just the sad nature of the beast sometimes. KENTA, Marufuji, and Morishima were the three guys who got me to start paying more attention to the new generation of modern puro back when I was in my hardcore ROH-watching days circa 2005-2009. Seeing KENTA back and kicking ass in NOAH or elsewhere in Japan, even if it's at just like 75-80% of what he could do as a young guy, would be incredible.

When I first started watching Puroresu, my guys were Kobashi, Kawada, Misawa and KENTA.
Man, 00’s NOAH was amazing.
