It's the Arkham game I replay the most. There's so much to enjoy about it, but it's treated like the redheaded step child of the series. I absolutely loved Origins. The boss fights were much better than Asylum and City. I still need to get a physical copy for my XB1 to complete the set. For some bizarre reason you can't get a digital copy in the Xbox store. I follow the Arkham reddit, and they are always talking about how hard to find Origins is. It's been discussed on here a few times, but I maintain that making the city at least a bit more alive, with some amount of pedestrians, would have made it much better. Instead, the world's lamest snow storm absolutely cripples the entire city, except for various thugs out defending territory no one is fighting for.

I was replaying Origins recently and I had a lower opinion of it the second time through, but it's still pretty good for what it is, a quickie rehash of assets from Arkham City. And it is the one Arkham game that has good boss fights so there is that.

There's a few copies at this video game store I go to. I thought about cancelling my pickup order for Far Cry 6 to get one but, I decided in the end not to.

Warner Bros. attitude toward digital 360 games suuuuucks. That, MK vs. DC, and MK9 are all backwards-compatible but not available digitally except on PS3 and I can't play them as a result because I have a Series S. Would totally buy all three games if they were available but nooope.

The industrial style from Batman 89, the skyscrapers and statues from the animated series and Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, and the existing Arkham City map that is reminiscent of Batman Begins and the comics. This is probably why I wish the map was better utilized with more of a lived in feeling.

Finally found the three hours needed to watch this
As much as I would like a Batman movie with room for a touch more fun, this was fantastic and I can’t wait to see the next one.
I hope In the sequel Bruce Wayne gets a bit less broody, as part of his wake up call that he can’t just be “vengeance”.
A bit long, but I don’t know what I’d cut. Maybe trim down the scale of the final sequences to something less city-destroying-scale.
GORGEOUS cinematography
It’ll take time to properly digest but my initial impression is I think it’s my favorite Batman movie so far.

Just rewatched it and I think it's a lot more rewatchable than I gave it credit for; while it's still definitely a long sit with a last act that kind of goes on too long there's still a lot to love about it on a second viewing. Do think Riddler's sudden shift in motivation at the end still feels really weird and forced, probably as a mix of needing to come up with a reason for a big action setpiece climax and potentially realizing that before that point he's way more effective at actually getting shit done than Batman is, but it's a pretty great movie on the whole and really eager to see more.

I appreciated that while they focused on the detective aspect of Batman they did not make him some all knowing genius. Batman screwed up by not thinking if the murder weapon had any significance but Bruce Wayne should have had no idea what a carpet tool was. Whereas the comics or animated series would have had him recognize it right away because Batman has to know everything.

And really the first thing he should have done was investigate where those pictures of the mayor and selinas friend were taken.

I want Batman to camp and fun, like Adsm West again My power, my pleasure, my pain! I do wish we could get a Batman movie that allowed for sci-fi/fantasy elements. I liked The Batman a great deal, but I want to see villains that can't be "grounded in realism".

In general it's kind of a refreshing take on things just because really when it comes down to it Riddler's just flat out smarter than he is. It helps put over that this is a more inexperienced Batman that the entire time he's a step behind and never really knows what the villain's actually doing, and when he does manage to work it out it's too late to entirely stop him.

Why not to Mad Hatter for a movie
He’s f***ed up enough to do a movie and still deliver the detective aspects
