With Omega in AEW now, it seems at least in NJPW they have missed the boat on a rivalry between Omega/Ibushi
While we did get the matches towards the end of last year, if left you wanting more in the future as you kno a rivalry just based upon who's better and making up at the end of it was always going to be good
Something i'm sure Omega is considering for AEW at some point since Ibushi is freelance and I think we will see him in AEW sooner than later

Kind of, but I get that NJPW was always going to have misgivings about throwing everything into a program with one guy who had his foot out the door, and someone who wasn't locked down to a contract, anyway.
I'd imagine that, like you say, Ibushi will probably come into AEW at some juncture.

Kind of, but I get that NJPW was always going to have misgivings about throwing everything into a program with one guy who had his foot out the door, and someone who wasn't locked down to a contract, anyway. I'd imagine that, like you say, Ibushi will probably come into AEW at some juncture. Yea, you can't really blame as I think if AEW wasn't a thing we probably would have gotten a match between them at WK for 2020 as they were really careful not to blow through their matches early
They added Cody in the mix so Ibushi/Omega potentially for the title could still be a draw down the line at some point

Ibushi winning G1 and beating Omega probably happens if Ibushi commits long term but he didn't so they go went with the loyal ace.

If that's true then you can't entirely blame New Japan. Personally, I still think the match will hapoen in a New Japan ring. Even though his priority will be AEW now, I can still see Kenny going back to work Wrestle Kingdom and possibly even the G1. |

Bucks saw the way NJPW used ROH so they would learn from that off the bat
However, flip side is NJPW can say f*** that and just continue to ride their momentum and make small dents in the U.S. market as they have been doing and AEW could just say nah and try to branch with other promotions
It seems like an easy deal on paper that though and I expect them to be working together at some point as it just makes a lot of sense considering the connections and how they could help each other

I wonder. If it does happen, that's going to complicate things with guys like Juice, but I figure that if NJPW and ROH fall out, ROH might try to form a relationship with AJPW or something. I do predict that at some point Omega will be back in NJPW, albeit on a part-time basis; it makes too much sense for the two promotions to have at least a minor working agreement, even if it's not the full-out kind currently operating between NJPW/ROH/CMLL/RevPro. But the CMLL/AAA issues likely make a full alliance near impossible, I'd think, so it's another wrinkle to consider.
As for Ibushi, he's signed contracts before, but I imagine he's not in a rush to do so right now. Still, I have a hard time thinking he wouldn't show up for AEW if they asked. Having Ibushi vs. Omega as one of the main events for the double shot at the Tokyo Dome next year must be incredibly appealing to NJPW (and to the Golden Lovers), so my prediction is that something will take shape by then.

I doubt he will sign an exclusive contract with AEW but he no doubt will show up at some point
The executive role is something that could hold him from working with NJPW in terms of he himself making a side deal but who knows since this is wrestling and not all normal rules apply in terms of corporate since we have never really been in this position before.
I think NJPW/AEW work something out one day but I would be surprised if they do something in regards to this year. What we can hope is a one show between the two which at least means something eventually will happen in the future

First off, they didn't miss the boat. The couldn't give Kenny everything or he would have no incentive to resign. But I imagine they will continue the story in AEW, as Kota Ibushi seems to have left New Japan as well.
As far as a working deal, it would be nice, but it has to be done in the right way. I don't want the Elite holding all of the belts again and not working 99% of the shows. But I would be fine with them coming back occasionally for a dream match on big shows.

They may actually already have a connection in Japan, given that OWE is a Chinese Dragon Gate Spinoff, add to that the fact that they have their Dream Gate Champion on the roster,and it just seems like a matter of time until we hear about an agreement. |

Its not really their fault that audiences couldn’t give any less of a shit about the Cody/Omega stuff. |
