Why wouldn't people call the police on a drug dealer? They bring crime to your neighborhood. Not just the fact that selling drugs is illegal, but they also bring in a criminal element that will commit other crimes. What happens if a drug deal goes bad and someone starts shooting? You run the risk of being caught in the shooting or having someone you care about caught in the school. Drug dealers don't bring crime to your neighborhood in the way you think. The people that buy drugs are going to get them from somewhere. Those that sell drugs are simply providing supply for the demand. No one forces anyone else to do drugs. And people can get shot for anything really. Drug deals don't lead to gun violence nearly as often as you probably imagine they do. The act of selling illegal drugs is a crime. So yes they do bring crime to your neighborhood. My apartment had a guy dealing and in the few months that he was there. We had multiple car break ins, an apartment was broken into, and items were stolen around the building. I get that no one is forcing anyone to do drugs. We're also not talking about supply and demand in regards to actual goods. We're talking about illegal substances that not only bring a danger to the people around them. They bring down the property value of the neighborhood.

I lol not because I was called out, because you basically repeated the same post as though it added to your argument. Also, I appreciate the links but don't need statistics. I feel the way I do based on personal experience.

Start selling pot, and how long before then it turns into them selling Crack, Heroin and Meth and attract all sorts of undesirables to your neighborhood? I can point to at least 5 pot dealers in my neighbourhood. I've never seen a crack/meth/whatever dealer. This is a slippery slope argument that likes to pretend people selling pot and people selling meth are he same thing. Trust me, people who sell pot by and large are just regular folk and don't want to deal with the kind of bullshit that comes from hard drugs.

Also uh, pot is becoming more and more legal in the US and other countries, so pot dealers are becoming legit business-people. I can't see crack, heroin, or meth ever becoming legal anytime soon.
Also the whole "pot is a gateway drug" thing is 100% bullshit.

I live in SoCal man. If I stopped and snitched every time I smelled or saw people smoking pot I would never have time for anything.

As of a couple months ago it's 100% legal here so you can't even fall back on the "well it's wrong because the law says so" argument.
