Glory Hog is an acronym for Hulk Hogan He did what the promoter wanted. I believe Meltzer has said Hogan not working with Bret Hart in 1993 was the first time something like that happened with him. Prior to that, the few matches he lost were the only ones Vince asked him to lose.

They also interacted on the Main Event in Feb 1990. It was the show where Tyson was supposed to be there but he lost to Buster Douglas and was replaced on TME by Douglas. After the Warrior/Bravo match, Hogan saved Warrior from a Bravo/Earthquake double team, and then Hulk/Warrior had a break apart face off.
It must be remarkable for today’s fans to look back on that and realize Hogan/Warrior barely even interacted on TV leading up to their match and it was still such a good feud/match.

They followed it up very well when Jack Tunney said he would never sanction a rematch because it would just be too dangerous.

If there was a heel in that feud, it was Hogan. He acted like a douche, just like he always did to his "friends" (Orndorff/Savage included), but nobody cared because Hulkamania and Gorilla Monsoon singing his praises. My favorite thing in wrestling is Ventura calling out Monsoon on his biased bullshit. Survivor Series 1989 is great for that, Ventura pointing out that 3/4 of Ted Dibiase's team were DQ'd for beating up Hogan too much.

That's why WWF only allowed it to happen at SkyDome, so if the worst happened, only Canada would be destroyed.

Definitely the most epic match of all time in terms of sheer scope. The build up was incredible. Idk, I'd say Austin/Rock Mania X-Seven edges it. Mega Star vs Mega Star in wrestling's hottest period. Match-wise maybe, although I'm not sure I agree, but the build to X7 for those two actually kinda sucked mostly.

Prior to that, the few matches he lost were the only ones Vince asked him to lose. And from multiple sides that don't usually agree (ie Meltzer and Prichard) it seems much more likely that Vince was doing the thing were he was leading Bret around about a match with Hogan rather than actually booking it. It seems like Vince had zero interest in putting Bret over.

How come noone's mentioning the contract signing they had, feuturing the greatest face-to-face promo of all time?
