It always looks great. Like Mr. Hughes? Goddamn, Mr. Hughes looked cool.
You got a gimmick that isn't working? Wrestle in a suit and call yourself something like "Mr. Hughes." People need to do this way more.
That's all.

The Big Boss Man looked badass wrestling in a suit during that blink-and-you'll-miss-it return he had in 2002.

It depends. I think it can be neat, and I like bodyguard types to dress the part, but it loses the special quality if they wrestle like that all the time.

I thought this thread would be about tuxedo matches.
I re-watched the Mid-South Dibiase/Duggan cage/tux/glove-on-a-pole match a few weeks ago. Duggan does the most obvious blade job during that match, it makes Ian Rotten look subtle.

I loved when Cody Rhodes wrestled in a suit during his “Grotesque” gimmick. He looked like a comic book villain.
Otherwise... I hate it. I hate Baron Corbin wrestling in a suit. It makes no sense for him to be still wrestling in a suit considering he’s not even with The Authority anymore.
Corporate Kane was fun though.

They should all wrestle in suits and fight for a championship necktie

I get nervous for the ones that wear dress shoes and try to wrestle. No traction, at all. Remember the Rock sliding when he did the People’s Elbow to I think the Bulldog?😬
But Hughes had a great look.

I hate it because all I can think is "Man, that looks really uncomfortable to have to wrestle in dress pants, a dress shirt, a tie, and suspenders".

Remember back in 2000 when Ric Flair wrestled in slacks and a dress T-shirt? Yeah...didn't seem right.

Didn't it cost Low Ki his job with NJPW?

Didn't it cost Low Ki his job with NJPW? No, that was his refusal to go to Fukushima, afaik.

No matter what you think of Low Ki, he looked gangster as f*** in this match. Funnily enough I came in to post that I think it works in some but not all cases, with Low Ki being an example of someone who looks like they're about to valet your car.

How about when women do it? As long as they wear athletic boots or shoes. Whoever's bright idea it was to have Ivory wrestle in high heeled boots as a member of RTC should have been fired, because she damn near broke her ankle. She was back to normal wrestling boots soon after.
