For me it's Mr. Perfect in 2002.
They did nothing with him. Could of faced Angle or Austin at Mania but was squashed on RAW and Heat until he was released in May. I was just glad to see one of my favorites back anyway, despite what happened during the run. I really enjoyed seeing him in a dark mark live at Insurrextion 2002 going up against another comeback of that year in Goldust. Could never imagined seeing them square off but It happened.

Sting for sure. Having him lose at Mania was god awful, but it still meant something to me to see my all-time favorite wrestler in a WWE ring.

Definitely The Headbangers in 2017. Was always a mark for them, felt good to see them doing their thing again. Loved the randomness of it too.

Austin Aries.
I just wish he was used better.

New Age Outlaws in 2014 and Dudley Boyz in 2015/2016. Nothing special happened...nice to see them again though really random. I got the see Dudleyz at a house show in 2015 and it was amazing since I marked for them major in 2001.

Not really lackluster, but relatively brief, Bob Backlund's return in 1993.
His heel persona is still one of my all time favourites.

The Spirit Squad on Smackdown in 2016, wish they had done more with them.

I actually kinda liked Road Warrior Animal’s 2006 WWE run as “Road Warrior,” hilarious titantron and all

Kurt Angle as Raw GM, mainly because since I was a kid I wanted so bad to take part in the "You Suck" chants during his entrance live, I finally got to do that last year.

Ultimate Warrior 1996.
A - proved to my high school friends he wasn't dead B - Trouncing Triple H ahahahaha C - Owen Hart vs Ultimate Warrior was something I didn't know I wanted till I saw the promos and the match

I loved seeing Dustin Rhodes back in WCW after his first Goldust run.

After everything that happened with the Montreal Screwjob with Bret Hart in 1997, the death of Owen Hart in 1999, and his own injuries in WCW and drug problems, I was happy to see the British Bulldog back in WWE for his final run in 1999/2000.

I guess I'll be the one to say it: Jinder Mahal in 2017.
It's absolutely a very divisive run that he had, no doubt. His ring work and promos are certainly left to be desired, and it was very much a pandering move to try to get India to invest in the company, but nevertheless it was something ENTIRELY out of left field and was a very heated topic of discussion as far as who can be the face of the company, who can hold the title, and if the title matters at all for that matter.

Super Crazy. He didn’t get much notoriety outside of the Mexicools gimmick or his moonsault off the balcony at the WWE / ECW One Night Stand PPV but he was always fun to watch.

I actually liked Jinder's reign as well. Someone on this board described it perfectly by saying that he looked like an SNK game boss. I think WWE hurt him by overly relying on the Singh brothers for him to win all of his matches. I think that a clean win or two would have really benefitted the entire situation. Also, he looked believable. I know that a lot of people on this board won't like this, but if you gave me a choice between fighting Jinder in real life and fighting Daniel Bryan in real life (the current WWE champion), I am fighting Daniel Bryan every single time.
