Part of Jay's looking so different is his teeth. The dentures make his face look quite a bit different. I met Jason Mewes 2 years ago, and since that time have wondered what was up with his face. I thought he had some plastic surgery or something, his facial features look like a complete different person. It’s the dentures? Why did he get those? I am super pumped for this, I am a big Kevin Smith fan. He’s such a cool dude.

Was it that Garner and Kev didn't get along? Feels like I've read that's where a lot of the estrangement came from. IIRC Garner put pressure on Affleck to distance himself from Kevin as she felt Kevin was a bad influence on his career choices. By his own admission Kevin didn't handle it well, blew up at Garner, and Affleck ultimately took her side. Kevin went off on a tangent in a commentary track (Clerks 2, maybe?) and summarised with "The moral of the story is don't f*** with a guy's wife, folks!" Sounds like even after Garner and Affleck divorced neither party reached out, and evidently in Kevin's case that was because he was afraid to. With how close he came to dying, I'm glad he put that demon to rest. Makes sense. It's always stuff when things have been strained to re-connect. Good for them.

Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith are local dudes so I'm always rooting for them to do well. Like that driving montage at the beginning of Clerks 2 is a drive I've made personally a lot of times. And the Evil Booze Clown sign at the end. Jason's struggles with addiction was heartbreaking to see and I'm glad he's got a support network and friends to get him past his demons. And Kevin's near death experience with his heart attack. was freakin' scary.
I also still remember when Harley was a baby on the Dogma's special features. And she was a little girl at Kevin's 2007 Birthday talking at us at the Count Basie in Red Bank.
Out of any celebrity I'd like to meet and shoot the shit with, Kevin Smith is at the top of my list just because I'd want to talk so much Jersey shit with him.

Yeah, his real teeth were gone within a year of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. He was already deep in heroin addiction before that movie, and kept it in check during production by drinking instead. Once it wrapped he spiralled deeper into his addictions, started doing meth, and wound up homeless.

I'm going to give this a pass as his past few films have been compete and utter shit.
That and I can't really say that I'm interested in seeing his daughter act anything else after watching f***ing Yoga Hosers.

Colour me surprised the run extended to as many as 788 theatres.

Watched it. Enjoyed it. Typical Jay and Silent Bob humour with the sentimentality you get from Kevin whenever he talks on his podcasts about something close to his heart. I laughed my ass off at the Loki cameo. {Spoiler}As punishment for almost ending existence God gave Loki amnesia and banished him to Earth again, where he became Jason Bourne. It was a downer seeing just how damn old everyone is, though.

I was wondering when this was going to get a UK release as I don’t recall seeing it showing in any cinemas. Found out that it’s actually out today on DVD/BLU and home streaming.

I really like Kevin Smith, but his last few movies have been dog shit terrible. This was no exception.

I really like Kevin Smith, but his last few movies have been dog shit terrible. This was no exception. Rightly or wrongly, I’ve always thought his films have been a bit since Mallrats. That and Clerks were perfect for the mid 90s slacker/grunge vibe, but trying to recapture their success by repeating the same formula several years on doesn’t necessarily work. People evolve, society and culture evolves and what worked well once doesn’t necessarily work again.

That was a really fun movie, nothing groundbreaking nothing amazing, but a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it I will say {Spoiler}Jay's reveal that they've been sticking gum in the locks of the shutters every single night for the past 25 years really brings about more questions than it answers.
Let me start by saying, I understand it's a joke which plays to answer the first scene of Clerks. What this all means is that, because Dante said in Clerks the locksmith wouldn't be there until tomorrow, they've paid for a locksmith every single day for the last 25 years to come out. Never bought a set of bolt cutters, never through to purchase a combination lock or maybe just not have shutters....
That all said, it was seriously my favorite part of the movie.

Yes the post credits scene was the only part I laughed at. This was so, so bad.
