No one has any right to destroy or steal private property, being a celebrity or not. There’s no excuse. No, f*** that. If I see some random creep just hanging out taking pictures and/or video of me and my family at the very least he’s getting a stern talking to. You’re not the 6 o’clock news, there’s no need to be invading peoples privacy because you feel the need to photo document every moment of your life. And the fact that he was close enough that Conor could reach the phone, means this is one entitled little piece of shit who got right up in his face. No sympathy what so ever. If you’re taking pictures within striking distance, that is a massive invasion of personal space and you deserve it if you get smacked. F*** that guy It’s still a crime, yes the guy is a creep but still he doesn’t deserve to have his property destroyed or stolen.

If you’re within striking distance trying to take a picture of somebody who hasn’t given you permission to take said photograph you absolutely deserve it if your phone gets broken. Tough shit, get some f***ing manners. It’d be a different story if Conor kicked the shit out of him, but he smashed a phone that someone stuck in his face. I don’t agree with taking the phone, but I’m 100% okay with him smashing the phone.

If he had done that, then I would agree with you.

But in my opinion, morally, he was absolutely in the right to smash the phone. Not ideal, but morally justifiable. And I was totally just stating my opinion, I never thought he was legally in the right. But it’s seriously about time we re-evaluated our photos in public laws now that everyone always has a camera at all times. Invading personal space should not be okay, taking pictures of strangers children should not be okay. I’m sure we can find a way to curb that bullshit without the First Amendment completely collapsing

I’m sure we can find a way to curb that bullshit without the First Amendment completely collapsing When you are in public there is a good chance you are being videotaped whether by a person or a company. This alone would make changing any laws very difficult. I don't think we're getting the full story and your assumption that the person must have been within swinging distance is just an assumption. For all we know he was across the street and Connor ran over to him and grabbed it from him. Connor is a dink and it's hard to really respect him anymore but I do think it sucks that celebrities essentially have no protection from being harassed like that. Not enough for me to sympathize at all with Connor though. Ultimately I hardly think someone taking your photo requires a physical retaliation and Connor went overboard and is clearly in the wrong.

The bigger problem is that this is already starting to influence the other fighters who see that as long as you're a big enough draw you can basically get away with murder. Having one Conor is "okay" for the business. Eventually having one at every weight class is doing to be really damaging to MMA in general

Connor McGregor is such f***ing trash, but sadly this won't be the last we see of him.

The real end of everything was once they started using a criminal act which injured a few fighters

After that statement came guys that said worst shit. Chael opened the doors and made it ok to talk about family, race and religion unfortunately.

Well, Chael made it "OK" to talk trash about people and crossing the line but the UFC encouraging it because "it's to sell the fight" should have some weight in that as well. In wrestling terms, the trash talkers are trying to "work" but some either don't know how to work or their opponents don't know how to react to the work properly, as people like Wanderlei Silva and Khabib have shown us in the past.

Dana won't put his foot down and at some point it's going to backfire spectacularly for the company. It's not even the inmates running the asylum, it's a dude who wishes he was an inmate saying "Oh sure guys draw dicks on my face, do whatever you want". That's what I figured that whole shit was with Conor attacking the bus that injured people and Dana did nothing

Dana White's acting like'90s Vince McMahon in a company full of Shawn Michaelses and it can only end badly for him. The fact that the bus attack didn't change anything means it's going to take actual disaster and something the company is going to get burned hard over for things to sotp.

Dana is more the face of UFC than any fighter so I assume he thinks he is bulletproof. His track record is real horrible and he plays favorites
Sure he instantly kicked out Paul Daley when he cheapshotted the dude after the bell rung but he seems to not take any responsibility for outside shit. Jon Jones drunk drives into a pregnant womans car and gets away, gets busted multiple times for drugs in his system but yet nothing happens.
However, he will pick a fight with Tyron Woodley because he didn't like his fight

Other than calling him a backwards motherf***er, McGregor knew what he was doing when he offered his stupid whiskey to a devout muslim.
