I just sold my PS2 and 5 games for $200.00. I consider this a good deal considering the local gamestop only wanted to give me 30.00 foir the PS2 and around 5.00 a game.

Both actually. But I still get quite a bit of use outta my PS2, so that probably colors my view of it.
But yeah Gamestop was trying to hose ya.

Depending on the games sold that sounds like a good deal, after working at EB for three years and knowing what the buy/sell rate of PS2's and games are

Seeing as how PS2s now sell for $130, and most games run for anywhere from $20 to $40, looks like you lost on the deal, kid.
But you're right--it's better than just getting $55 for it.

You seem to have lost a bit on the deal, but it's way better than what probably any store would give you. Game stores just don't pay much for anything.
My PS2 still gets a lot of love personally...so I'm not sellin' it.. The only console I've had since the NES that I've sold is the XBox...it just really didn't have any games I cared about. Though now I'm even regretting selling that...there are a few games I still wanna play, or play again...Advent Rising, Panzer Dragoon Orta...um...there are a few others probably.
Okay, I'm just rambling now.
Anyway, I generally don't sell consoles, 'cause you'll pretty much always regret it.

I wouldn't have regretted selling my Genesis, since I only had 3 games for it: Beavis and Butt-Head, Sonic 2, and a Shining Force that you can't save on with a defective battery backup. Wheeeeeeee!

Current retail prices (courtesy WalMart.com) Madden '05: $14.82 (PS2 version unavailable; price is for XBox version) Rumble Roses: $9.82 SvR '07: $49.82 Capcom Classics 1: $19.82 Capcom Fighting Evolution: $12.82 (PS2 version unavailable; price is for XBox version) Brand new PS2: $129.00
TOTAL: $236.10 If the games were used (and I'm assuming they were), then forget about saying anything close to "you got hosed." If anything, you screwed the buyer.

yeah, I expected you to say you sold it for like $50. I worked at Gamestop as recently as Janurary (God, I'm glad I finally found a real job, a career type job instead of retail) and you got very little credit for systems. 20% less if you wanted cash. yeah they do tend to try and rip you off at that place. i figure i would come out on top if i just sold it some random stranger. looks like i did pretty well for myself.

Yeah, by my estimates, you did pretty good. I'm a real conservative buyer, so knowing what I can get games for on the PS2, and the system itself, I'd say you came out ahead on that deal.
