Wasn’t sure where to put it but feel this fits here. On August 25th at Korakuen TJPW will be introducing a new International Princess championship that will be open to and focus on international challengers. It will be between an international challenger and a Japanese challenger selected in a 4 way (Rika Tatsumi vs Yuna Manase. vs Natsumi Maki vs Yuki Kamifuku) at the July 20 Itabashi show.
Given the working relation I think you might see this defended in AEW and have their wrestlers maybe come to Japan at some point? Obviously they will be careful about other promotions involved challenging. They are also dropping Tokyo from other titles name because of international presence.
Another DDT/AEW possibility is that Konosuke Takeshita won the title last night, and he has been sort of laying the seeds to defend it against Kenny for a while. They announced Peter Pan will be held at Saitama Super Arena next year, a big venue. DDT probably isn’t interested in selling it out since they do well (11 k there last time) and while even with Kenny I don’t see it happening, but they mentioned they want more people this time and him returning to DDT to face a top class ace would be a pretty big thing I think. Still a while away tho lol

If I'm being honest I am having an incredibly hard time picturing myself actually bothering with the main event. Lot can change in six weeks I guess but on paper I'm heavily leaning toward just turning the show off after Omega / Moxley.

I'm gonna be watching because I want to see the first ever AEW Title Match. But the pairing itself isnt the reason for me.

I think that's where it is headed, on joshi Twitter it's already being sort of jokingly being made fun of as the AEW joshi belt lol. TJPW does work with other foreign companies though from time to time, so I think it's going to be broader than just one other promotion. It also opens up the door for less politics--for instance, if TJPW's ace held the title and lost it in AEW or something, it wouldn't be as big a deal as their top belt, and could lead to the AEW talent defending in Japan for a mutual boost.

You don't speak for me and don't presume that you do. As it stands the Page match at the last show was terrible, I really don't care about Jericho, and I'm confident that Page is winning the belt so I have every reason to turn this show off at my personal main event. Maybe that'll change by the time we get there but at least in the moment I'm leaning toward not bothering with this. You might be fine with watching it, whatever, but don't f***ing tell me what I'm really thinking.

So this is probably going to end up being one of those posts quoted on September 1st and everyone calls me an idiot but if Spears/Cody happens...I have faith it’ll actually be really good.
The way I see it is that so far Cody’s surprised me with two matches that had no right to work like they did (Dustin and Darby) and whilst the tag match didn’t blow me away, you could tell what they wanted to do with it and some of the beats hit.
It’s not even like Shawn is probably going to be greatly pushed since he’ll be in a feud with Darby after this show but I have faith.

Guessing Cody picks up the win, but if he doesn't, thinking Darby will arrive and kick the shit out of Shawn. Actually, probably going to do that regardless of who wins, given how much umbrage he took with Shawn for messing with his moment with the draw.

So I'm trying to predict this card. I reckon we'll have 9 to 10 matches, 2 to 3 on the Buy in and 7 to 8 on the main card.
Page vs Jericho Moxley vs Omega Bucks vs Lucha Bros Dark Order vs Best Friends Kong vs Kong are all confirmed (I think) Cody vs Spears is a given too. That makes 6.
I reckon then you'll have another singles match, another tag match, and another womens match, and possibly a multi man tag to put on the Buy In to get as much of the roster on the card as possible.
