,,yet things dont seem that different from 2010. Anyone else feel this? I mean, 2009 felt way different than 2000, ditto 1999 and 1990 and so on, yet, aside from stuff we cant discuss here, nothing seems to have changed in the last 10 years.

Cellphones are ubiquitous, and they’re all smartphones.

Only thing that's changed is mainstream music. It's way worse today.

It does feel like technology's sort of stalled at the moment. Think about it this way: the Wright brothers' first flight was in 1903. Sixty-six years later, man walked on the moon. It's been 50 years since Apollo 11 and it doesn't feel like there's been anything approaching as advanced a technical revolution as we saw in the 66 years between the Wright brothers and Neil Armstrong.
In 1990, the Internet was just sort of an idea. Ten years later, everyone had some form of the Internet on a desktop or laptop. And in the 10 years since 2000, everyone basically had a world of information at their hands via their cellphones. But we've not really evolved since then, there's been no grand evolution in the 10 years since 2010.

I think the media is different as the internet gets more power every day and everyone is obsessed with social media. Like twitter basically props up tv shows as when they have no ideas they're just like "let's see what twitter users say!" and websites make entire articles based on one or two tweets about topics. Politicians or celebrities can lose their jobs from tweets and outraged campaigners try to "cancel" people. Your job can be an instagram "influencer" or professional youtuber or whatever now and people literally live their lives online and take it all so seriously. TV has changed too since apart from live sport I never watch tv shows as they air now and it's all streaming which has also destroyed CDs/DVDs etc.
I can't say if people have changed though since I never go outside...

The world has changed a lot since 2010 in ways that are too numerous to list.
Off the top of my head, social media was obviously a thing back then, but it wasn’t as ubiquitous as it is now and a lot of social movements wouldn’t have gained quite as much traction without it.

Things feel a lot different now to me, at least from a society standpoint.
From a day to day individual standpoint, yes, it feels the same, but society as a whole has changed a lot.

I remember around 2013-2015 it was like a massive wave of people figured out how to do stuff like selfies/Facebook/Instagram whatever and were all excited about it. Like when WWE constantly did the Tout and Twitter stuff.
Since around 2017 we're more used to it and we treat it like a standard thing.
