Grandal signs with the White Sox. Deal is four years, $73 mil. He’s very underrated. As long as they have human umps, Grandal is going to be good value (his framing is elite). I like the White Sox team. They have some good young talent with Moncada, Jimenez, Anderson, etc. They could surprise next season. Finally White Sox adding bats. Thought they would last year and I still think they add an OF Grandal got a good come up and got paid nicely for betting on himself

The Yankees have released Jacoby Ellsbury, and DFA'd Greg Bird and Nester Cortes Jr. Just tears me upside, just a real shame. *Fails at hiding smile*

They might still be a year away but they have high upside young players and now adding vets. Some times young teams on the cusp can have quick turnarounds if they add the right complementary pieces. Grandal is a good start. And yeah he turned down 4/60 from the Mets last season and took 1/18 from the Brewers. Bet on himself and got another $73 mil out of it. Good for him.

Yeah, it also went under the radar that Abreu took his qualifying offer with the White Sox so they got some bats this year for sure

The White Sox top prospect is an OF in Luis Robert I think he's a top 10 guy in all of baseball for prospects so some of that may depend how close he is.

So apparently the Yankees are claiming that Ellsbury went to outside doctors not approved by the team and they're trying to use that as a way to get out of paying him the rest of what they owe him.

Giving $24 million to a guy who's only had 18 career at-bats above Double-A seems crazy to me, but then again, my team also signed a Cuban outfielder who hadn't seen Major League pitching to a $72.5 million contract which finally expires next year, so who am I to criticize?

Hot stove finally heating up.
Kyle Gibson signs with the Rangers (3 years, 30 million).
Drew Pomeranz signs with the Padres (terms not known yet).
Brewers trade Grisham and Davies to the Padres for Urias and Lauer.

It's kind of a head scratcher but if he turns out good the j's could be getting a deal. But this is the mariners so I don't hold my breath.

Look at Houston giving Jon Singleton $10 million over 5 years that amounted to nothing of gain for them and them releasing him this year

I hate that Baseball offseason is complete trash for nearly 2 months after the season ended and even then the top players don't sign now until f***ing Feb
