Castellanos to the Reds: And now Heyman says they're considering moving Senzel. I’m proud of the Giants for not making that move. Seems like the kind of middle(slightly above probably)-tier addition that only wins a bad team a couple meaningless games and keeps you from getting that sweet sweet higher draft pick. Giants are straight up rebuilding after doing next to nothing all offseason and letting MadBum walk for peanuts. Good for them. Hopefully Zaidi truley knows what he’s doing in this situation. I like his track record. No needless spending Seems like Zaidi is really buckling down saying this is going to be a 3-4 year rebuild and we aren't compromising. Got to believe Posey is out the door next whether through trade or contract running out

(He has 2/45mil remaining with a 3mil buyout for 2023) I can see them giving away Belt, moving Posey to first and calling up highly ranked prospect Joey Bart. Maybe even at some point this season. Gotta figure Longoria, Crawford, Belt, Samardzija, Cueto (if healthy) are on the list to get shipped out if anyone’s offering anything.

Yea it’s going to be a 5 year road but I think they are making the necessary steps considering giants were barren. Losing MadBum is going to sting for a bit but no matter what he’s one of the greats to play there. I also liked the move he made getting Angels prospect and absorbing money because he can. These are outside the box moves that will pay off down the like The hope is Bart is def that big piece to start the revival right

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Padres are looking to package Wil Myers, outfielder Manuel Margot or Josh Naylor, and starting pitchers Cal Quantrill or Joey Lucchesi in a deal for Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts. www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/story/2020-01-27/padres-mookie-betts-red-sox-wil-myers-cal-quantrill-manuel-margotUgh. This is really the best Boston is going to get in exchange for the second-best player in the game? Myers is entering his age-29 season coming off a .239 season, Margot and Naylor are two post-hype prospects who haven't really panned out, and Quantrill and Lucchesi are mid-tier pitching prospects. That's it?

And Heliot Ramos is on the way up as well. For the first time in awhile (since Posey maybe?!) there’s a few legit exciting prospects in the not too distant future.

That's it? That would be a steal for San Diego as they would manage to avoid trading any of their elite level guys and they drop Myers in a salary dump....

The Astros are apparently hiring Dusty Baker as manager. Well if they were too new school before, they about to get real old school Old relievers like Scott Proctor breaking out in a cold sweat after how much older guys like Joe Torre abused them in their prime

Well if they were too new school before, they about to get real old school Old relievers like Scott Proctor breaking out in a cold sweat after how much older guys like Joe Torre abused them in their prime I wonder if Dusty with an analytical front office would manage differently. What he did to the Cubs pitching staff was reckless but it would never fly today. Maybe Dusty has evolved with age. I wouldn’t bet on it, as I’d expect more 120-130 pitch games for Verlander next year, but who knows. I guess it’s not 100% official yet. Nightengale said it was but others are saying nothing is confirmed, so we will see.

There's talk that the National League is considering adopting the DH as early as next season.
