I’m not talking about people like Del Rio, Jinder, Sheamus ect who had one off world title reigns or were main event failures. I am talking about the next Cena/Orton/AJ/Rollins type maineventer that you can successfully slot in a Mania main event and it wouldn’t feel off. Maybe a guy like Andrade? But he would need to sharpen his mic skills if he doesn’t wanna become Del Rio 2.0. Ali will probably be world champ one day but I don’t see him being a top tier main eventer. Are there any NXT guys that fill this?

You never know what kind of abhorrent twists and turns creative have around the corner, but Aleister Black feels like he's going to be a big time player in the near future.

If they don’t screw them up, which is a huge if for the WWE these days I’d say that Andrade, and Aleister Black. Velveteen Dream should be big, but he’s going to die a death on the main roster.

These are who I'm getting the feeling will break out on the main roster.
- Adam Cole: He's already loved by the corporate team, has a strong catchphrase, and is the second coming of Edge and HBK. Fingers crossed we can get a strong faction with Undisputed Era behind him, but with so few stables lasting more than a couple of years on the main roster I have my reservations. He'll do fine on his own though and could be a strong heel for people to play off of.
- Velveteen Dream: The two biggest things he's got for him is a gimmick he's grown into, and the fact that he's a home-grown talent. Barring misuse from corporate, he could go a long way to help bolster the IC midcard.
- Matt Riddle: Guy has natural charisma, a strong gimmick, and an MMA background (which is their 'flavor of the month'). As long as he can keep up with the other guys to establish himself, he could do just fine.
Guys who I feel are sadly going to not make it despite big potential:
- The rest of the Undisputed Era (if split from Adam Cole): I love these guys, but it is their dynamic that makes them a great team. Separately, they sadly wouldn't last long.
- Tomasso Ciampa: There's really only one reason I say this, and it's because of his neck injury. Debuting on the main roster and getting taken out for an extended period is practically the kiss of death for many members of the roster, and Ciampa is no exception. He MIGHT be able to build up a strong enough prescence if he stays on SDL or something, but it'll be extremely difficult unless Triple H can keep him away from Vince's creative decisions.
- Johnny Gargano: I love the guy, but much like a few of the other call-ups, I feel like the casual audience isn't going to see him much more than 'Daniel Bryan lite'. He will need some very strong singles matches and storylines for people to get behind him, but I think the patience corporate has for people to get over is too short for him to be able to make an impact.
- Keith Lee: Knowing how Vince thinks, his character is going to wind up relegated to repeating his catchphrases and showing up in the background for comedy segments backstage.
Female members of the roster who will be big:
- Shayna Baszler: If Ronda weren't around, she'd have already made her debut on the main roster and would be absolutely KILLING it. It's almost a certainty she'll be one of the first in line to antagonize Becky if Ronda is truly done if even for a short while after WrestleMania, and she does a far better job being menacing than Rousey ever has been.
- Toni Storm: Barring visa issues, she will very easily make the transition to the main roster when the time comes.
- Bianca Belair: The leaps and bounds of improvement she's made in the short time she's been in the ring is staggering. She has a unique look, a unique gimmick (the hair whip thing is one of those "why hasn't anyone done this yet?" things), and can handle herself on the mic when the time comes.
Girls who aren't going to unfortunately make it:
- Kairi Sane: This one stings, a lot. But just like Nakamura and Asuka before her (and to some extent, Gail Kim),the WWE just simply do not know what to do with Asian wrestlers. Her gimmick is absolute money, and absolutely has the workrate to do great things, but creative will absolutely bury her because they're terrible at their job.
- Io Shirai: Same as Kairi, minus the pirate princess gimmick. Both could do great things (even if they paired up with Asuka), but I have zero confidence the WWE will do them justice.
- Dakota Kai: They'll see her as 'Bayley's Kid Sister' and fail to establish her as a unique force to be reckoned with.

I see no reason why Pete Dunne shouldn't be a top heel down the road
Likewise, if he stays healthy the sky is the limit for Tyler Bate
Dijakovic has a ton of upsides, but his name change was just terrible. I would not be surprised in the least if he were just "Dijak" on the main roster.

Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley have star quality written all over them, and they both have looks that we know WWE management like. They'll be big.
Velveteen Dream should be a big star, even if not as big as he could be after creative fail to understand his gimmick.
I'd say Andrade, but I just don't see them ever pulling the trigger. Someone in the back won't like his accent, or think he's not drawing with Hispanic fans, or some bullshit. And they'll end up doing a split angle between him and Zelina, which won't benefit either of them.

Hard to say while we're still in "Ol' Crazy Vince" era, but if they cannot elevate Black and Ricochet into stardom, then it is a total crap-shoot.

Black and Ricochet - No brainers for me if they're handled right. Neither are great on the mic (Black's passable), but they're phenomenal in the ring and they have the "it" factor. Black's both top face and top heel material and Ricochet's a guy who can make first time watchers go, "Who is THAT?"
Toni Storm - I can see her mic skills being the only thing they're not high on, but she reminds me so much of Becky.
Shayna - She's almost 40 which is hard to believe, but she has everything you could want in a top female heel.
Bianca - Sky's the limit for her. Only been doing this, what, 3 years? With a couple more years of seasoning in NXT, she's going to be something special.
I have really high hopes for Ali, too, but we'll see.

Ricochet, Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano will be main eventers.
Ciampa will be the biggest heel in the company at some point.

Black and Ricochet seem to be no brainers. Black's gimmick and entrance and Ricochet's athleticism set them apart from everyone else and the company seems to be high on both.
On the women's side I'm pretty confident Rhea Ripley is going to be a big deal. Good size, athletic, carries herself very well. She's also very young so they have a lot of room to work with. Toni Storm seems like another can't miss for a lot of the same reasons.

It's awfully generous putting AJ up there when he's mainly been confined to Smackdown. I get the impression he's above, say, Joe or Owens in their estimation, but a lot closer to that level than to a Cena or Roman. Really, the only stars of that caliber I think they've made in the 2010s have been Punk (sort of), Bryan, Roman, and maybe Rollins, and Rollins still feels like he's mainly there by default. |
