So that was odd.

Given the story of Brock being an overpaid asshole who doesn't care about the company and monopolizes the title, there was something humorously fitting of him in the opening match, getting hit in the balls and losing in three minutes.

I loved it. Completely turned my expectations of the show on their head, amazing way to open it.

I’ve got no problem with it. For one, Brock is better when his matches are short spectacles so this fit the bill for it. And also, of the three big matches, this was the biggest one people were convinced would have the wrong ending so getting it out of the way early eliminated that from looming overhead the whole night.

Brock probably wanted to get out first and get out of there before anyone else. With the shows running as long as they are, it's probably the prime spot on the card these days, and Brock's been the "main event" on so many shows that he don't need this one for an ego boost.

It was weird in years past the Sheamus/Bryan or Edge/Del Rio opened the show. I guess they were trying to give the shows the old SNME where it would kick off with a big match to start the show off with a bang.
This at least made sense from a storyline reason. Brock was back at the hotel within a half hour and he still probably made a million bucks.

I'm so relieved the belt's off Brock. I'll have an easier time enjoying his work if he's not hogging up the title because he doesn't need it, they ride the guy's dick so much he's treated like a big deal even without it.

They had him hold that title, hurting the entire Monday Night Raw product, all just for that. I'm very glad Seth won.

Brock holding his nuts walking to the back while Lawler's theme played was hilarious.

I have absolutely no problem believing that, when Brock learned he was losing and it wasn't in the main event, he would have said 'put me on first, and make it short. I don't need to be hanging around here all night.'
But man, did they make the dethroning of the Beast feel incredibly lame. Seth gets battered for a couple of minutes, hits a low blow and three Curb Stomps. That's it. That's your match. It felt like an utter fluke, possible only because Seth got the opportunity to punch Brock in the dick.

After all that Lesnar's done hogging up that title it was justified.

Didn't watch the event, but that sounds like such a lame way for him to go out. Maybe the smarks will eat it up now (lol get Brock outta here) but for me realistically it stinks.

I figured they were going to start the show with one of the World title matches. It may be the “opening” match but a sizable chunk of the crowd had already been in their seats for over two hours at that point. They needed something to reenergize the crowd.

Given the story of Brock being an overpaid asshole who doesn't care about the company and monopolizes the title, there was something humorously fitting of him in the opening match, getting hit in the balls and losing in three minutes. I walked out of it thinking the complete opposite. I think that Brock is a genius. He could have easily been in the main event if he wanted. He could have sat in that locker room for about 10 or 11 hours waiting for his match to close the show, got out of there after midnight, sore, tired, and every restaurant closed. Instead, he said, "Hey, put me on first. I'll lose in 3 minutes to really put Rollins over strong." He got there, did his job, and left. I bet that before the end of the second match, Brock was in a restaurant with his wife and kids, content that he had just beaten the horrendous WrestleMania traffic and had just made more money than most of us will ever see in our entire lifetime for doing three minutes of work. He was probably also content in the fact that, in doing three minutes of work, he suffered no injuries and is able to prepare for a big UFC title match that will soon make him even richer. It's good work if you can find it.
