As I was watching some of the recaps, the screen went black and white during the Shane/Miz segment and then I saw the blood on Miz's head. However, as soon as it went black and white I knew someone was bleeding and wondered who and where. Anyone find this transition jarring? It almost seems to draw more attention to the fact that someone is bleeding. What's the reasoning behind this?

I know they typically try to avoid blood, but if it does happen now, I thought they were usually just going with it.

Why cant they just put a black and white spot over the blood?

I thought this thread was going to be a fantasy booking scenario of the tag team of Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar.

It’s f***ing stupid when they edit old footage by making it go black and white when blood is on the screen. Isn’t that the whole point of a parental lock? If I want to watch The Triumph and Tragedy of WCCW on the network then why do I have to watch the censored version? Make it so I need to put a PIN in and let me have the uncensored original.
This is going to sound horrible but why should I have to have my viewing changed of something that could potentially upset kids? That’s on their parents to monitor the content they let them watch online or anywhere. Why should it be only the censored stuff allowed for the sake of them?
I actually agree with ratings systems put in place by respective departments, be it TV, Cinemas, Games. It’s there to protect children and I support that. But again, I’m an adult, I don’t need a screen to cut to black and white if someone gets cut. I’ve already been given a warning at the beginning of the show, it’s on me if I then watch it and take offence at it. As I said, anything with anything more than a tiny bit of blood, put it behind a parental lock and keep the violence warning at the beginning. Problem solved.

I think they think it makes it look more dramatic.

It almost seems to draw more attention to the fact that someone is bleeding This is one of my main issues with it. Have you ever watched something like Hell’s Kitchen (or any Gordon Ramsay show for that matter) uncensored? You don’t notice the amount of swearing anywhere near as much as when it’s bleeped.

I know they typically try to avoid blood, but if it does happen now, I thought they were usually just going with it. I don't know, I've seen it in photos from shows but that was some time ago. I did get to see the famous Becky moment in colour. It just seemed strange because I'm just watching a typical brawl and then suddenly black and white. I was watching a recap though so maybe it's a matter of post production. Why cant they just put a black and white spot over the blood? I imagine that would take far more effort and money. Look, it don't matter. do you want to be my baby or not? I'm almost certain this is a reference to something that I should know but I'm drawing a blank. I thought this thread was going to be a fantasy booking scenario of the tag team of Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar. You came to the wrong person. My fantasy booking for Brock Lesnar is he never shows up on WWE again.

The “baby” reference is a lyric from Black or White by Michael Jackson.
