Like, stuff like leaning around when you make turns in racing games or something like that.
Lately, I seem to have gotten into the habit of narrating in my mind as I play video games. Like, kind of like doing a let's play or some sort, to keep my mind working aside from the bits that are actually playing a video game.
So, FAN, what are the stuff that you seem to do when you play video games, aside from playing video games?

Turn off all commentary for sports games and just do my own commentary.

No matter how many times I’ve seen them and how long they are, I always watch the cutscenes.

I take lots of break when I suck. When I pause the game, I watch my hands or face, smf sometimes I pace around my house. When I get better, I wiggle around like a douche and do runs(singing)

I'm as thorough as I possibly can be when playing a game for the first time. For example, despite owning it since November and putting over 300 hours into it, I'm still only 54% of the way into Red Dead Redemption 2.

When making a long jump in a NiES game (I.E: Super Mario Bros.) I will hold down the jump button during the jump even though that does nothing to help me land the jump.

my number one rule is that I don't look at the trophy list until I've beaten the game. Too many trophy lists are full of spoilers and I like going blind into games
This gives games extra replay value for me too, as I'm not stressing trying to get all the trophies in my first run or letting the trophies influence how I play the 1st time through.

I make up my own stories.
For example, my character in Oblivion, Lord Rikkard, is the great grandfather of my character in Skyrim, Lady Rebekka.

No matter what I play, I keep a running commentary going. Helps me keep focus on what I'm doing.

When I’m in trouble or unsure of a situation, I always ask one of my cats for help. It started when I (jokingly) felt like Elena wasn’t helping enough in Uncharted, so I was like, “If you won’t, maybe Ranger will...” Now it’s just become a thing.
“Oh, no...Ranger - help me!”

When making a long jump in a NiES game (I.E: Super Mario Bros.) I will hold down the jump button during the jump even though that does nothing to help me land the jump. Actually...it kinda does; the programming for jumping in many various games (Super Mario especially) actually checks to see if the jump button is being held during the jump itself. If it's released, it divides the distances and speed you're traveling by a certain amount (typically half) and gives the character that feeling of dropping in place. It's why platformers like SMB feel tight in their controls compared to something that forces a specific height and distance on you no matter what you do with the buttons. *** On-topic, I'm someone who will try to go off and do as much of the side-content as possible before tackling the main quest, simply because I've been burned too many times with Points of No Return completely sneaking up on you (looking at you, Fable 3). This does frequently lead to me not actually finishing games due to boredom or burnout, but I feel like I get my money's worth when I can enjoy the gameplay as much as the stories themselves.

Spending 3 hours trying to figure out why I can't progress out of a certain area, then log off pissed.
2 weeks later I turn it back on and within 10 seconds I see the staircase/hallway to the next zone that was hiding in plain sight.

Talk to characters during cut scenes, especially if they're doing something stupid.

I tend to try and voice act the characters in JRPGs with no voice acting, especially if they have a clear phonetic accent (Irish, French, Newfie, etc.)
Also, consciously, I know it doesn't do anything. But I still mash the B button any time I try to catch a Pokemon, because my subconscious starts screaming "IT HELPS DAMMIT! IT ESCAPED BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T HIT B ENOUGH!"

Cheer myself on regardless of which game I’m playing. Slouch on the bed for some parts of the game but sit up focused when **** gets real. Always take the batteries out of the controller when I’m done to save energy.
