It's holy week here where I am, and as such non-cable TV takes a break from their regular programming. Mostly movies air during Thursday through Sunday.
Anyway, aside from commercials, during breaks there'd be mentions of other advertisements, like the sponsors for the programming or some such. This year, I noticed that three different businesses regarding roast chicken are advertising, and there's some amusement on their slogans between two of them.
Like, one has its slogan as (translated to English), "it's good even without sauce!", and that's their gimmick. No sarsa (kinda like gravy) with the chicken, and it is indeed quite tasty.
And then the other one is (again translated), "it's tastier with sauce!" which feels somewhat underachieving like implying that the chicken won't be good unless it has its sarsa alongside it.
But the crowner of underachiever is the third chicken company. I've mentioned this one before, I think, and somehow it's amazing that this business still exists. It's slogan is, translated, "some people say our chicken isn't good, but it's pwede na (like... it'll do with the feeling that you say that with a shrug).
