Demo's out for Scramble. It's in Japanese so it's... rather hard to actually know what to do if you can't read the objectives and all, but I gave it a look mostly to see how the Switch version runs and it seems perfectly fine based off what I've played thus far.
Not really feeling the new music though, is making me glad that having Ultimate (or Persona 5, depending on the console) will unlock the original Persona 5 music.
Edit: Okay, being able to run around in the areas from the original game while the original music plays is making me really bitter there isn't a Switch port. There is some noticeable choppiness to the animations / models admittedly but still seems perfectly functional.

After putting it off for a bit got back to the Scramble demo and turns out I had left off very close to the end so wrapped that up.
Ehhhhh? I might need to see some of the game once it actually comes out in Japan to really gauge it. The combat feels pretty much like a Warriors game but broken down into a bunch of mini fights that hurt the momentum of it, and the demo keeps the exploration stuff limited to the point of basically being nonexistent so it's hard to gauge how much of that will be in the final game, though at least what little you do get to do has the areas directly transplanted from the original game so probably a fair bit of it.

Just so I understand...
Apparently Scramble is a direct sequel to P5 with different combat? If so then shit I had no idea. I'm in.

Yeah, Scramble is a direct sequel to vanilla Persona 5, but as a Warriors game. That's pretty great. Since I'm getting Royal I wonder if I'll need to beat it before I play Scramble. Even though they're different games I just want it to make sense.

Fortunately Atlus recently put out a survey asking if people would be interested in a Switch port of it (along with the rest of the Persona games, and other things) so maybe it'll pan out. Do wonder if TMS having bombed twice will scare them off though.

Yeah I hope TMS doesn't scare them either, I enjoyed it but I feel like "Shin Megami Tensei + Fire Emblem but it's idol life" is a hard sell for a wide audience. A Persona game on Switch would be a lot bigger deal IMO.

Definitely glad to hear about that. Nooot a fan of the, "Ha ha, you abandon Ryuji to get raped by a couple of awful stereotypes," scenes.
... Honestly in general Ryuji catches way too much shit.

Ryuji has to be my least favorite member of the Phantom Thieves not named Akechi, while I’m actually quite fond of Morgana.

Yeah Ryuji does get a lot of crap but some of it was deserved. That whole Morgana arc I was firmly behind Morgana. Ryuji was severely f***ing up a good amount and he helped turn their "arguing brothers" dynamic into something that went too far to the point where he didn't even want to apologize and he kept screwing up.

Ryuji's an idiot throughout the build to the fifth palace, but I'm still on his side on the Morgana dispute - Morgana rides his ass the entire game and then the second Ryuji fires back he can't take it. There are outside circumstances around it but it's not like Ryuji has any way of knowing that... and really the rest of the team doesn't either at the time they're going in on Ryuji about it.
Another scene where I felt really sorry for him is the bit after the seventh palace where all the girls beat him up for... basically no reason.

Even in combat,Ryuji can't get a crit that Morgana has to shit on him.

Ryuji was severely f***ing up a good amount and he helped turn their "arguing brothers" dynamic into something that went too far to the point where he didn't even want to apologize and he kept screwing up. it really never was as much as arguing brothers and Morgana taking the piss out of Ryuji at every chance like a bully. Even in combat,Ryuji can't get a crit that Morgana has to shit on him. One thing that I find interesting is that everyone who says "Morgana is always attacking Ryuji" is never mentioning all of the times Ryuji insulting Morgana. Even in their first meeting (when Morgana was locked up) Ryuji was insulting him, shit it even happened after he was out where Ryuji threatened the guy. Shortly after in those few moments Ryuji was the one who wasn't understanding things while Joker picked up on them which gives Morgana the idea that this dude Ryuji isn't too bright and furthermore throughout the game with Ryuji's actions (talking out loud, forgetting things, acting stupid when around other characters) that keeps the idea up to Morgana. The reason Morgana acts that way to Ryuji is due to how Ryuji treated him and due to the fact that the guy isn't as smart as a lot of other characters. Morgana doesn't act that way towards anybody else and Ryuji's treated that way from others. Their dynamic is the way it is because Ryuji was the one who set it up from rip. Had Ryuji treated Morgana differently he wouldn't be treated the way he is.
The big issue with his argument with Morgana is that by that point Morgana had stopped insulting him, he was in a down point and Ryuji kept going on with the insults for no reason even when it wasn't dealing with Morgana. When Morgana insults Ryuji it was usually a jab towards something Ryuji did or didn't do and Morgana comes with a jab ("hahaha his scores were low") but when it comes to Morgana being depressed that didn't make any sense nor did it even do with Morgana, it was just thrown out to throw out. For example, Futaba joins the team and Ryuji starts hammering on the "haha you're useless now" crap when the reality is no he's still more useful than you Ryuji and it's not like he did anything to deserve that especially when he didn't insult you and especially when it's not related to anything.
It's even worse when you look at the fact that Ryuji had to be reminded that they were there to get their friend back and he was still being a whiny bitch talking about getting famous when Morgana was going through something. The other thieves understood but he doesn't until Morgana gets kicked by that douchebag in the alley. It shouldn't take that for someone to understand that their friend is going through something.
To sum it up, no, there's no "Morgana should have tougher skin because he dealt it" stuff with him. Ryuji started their dynamic with how he treated Morgana in Kamoshida's palace and it kept continuing so when Morgana was really depressed he didn't see it until he got kicked in his chest. Morgana doesn't crap on Ryuji just to insult him, he does that because Ryuji was the one who set their dynamic in the first palace entry.
