Rather than a post about past things that would not fly today, I thought we might have a reverse one. What is deemed acceptable today that would not have been acceptable in the past?

Really depends on how old you are.
Trying not to keep it too serious, this joke.

You couldn't imply that people used bathrooms in the past... it took the sound of a toilet flushing on "All In The Family" to break that taboo.

I'd say anything related to sex, either gay or straight, but then a lot of that is still regarded as disgusting by a lot of people (while graphic violence is absolutely fine).

Even with the Little Ricky arc, Lucy Ricardo couldn't say the word "pregnant".

This is comparing to the 70s and much of the 80s in particular, but action sequences in animated series with physical contact, both with limbs and weapons.

Wasn't Leave it to Beaver the first show to show a married couple sharing a bed?

Fun story: a community theater I am pretty active in once did a night of skits from the Carol Burnett show, one of which was “Guess What’s Coming to Dinner?” About a well to do lad from a wealthy white family who enrages his parents when he announces his intent to marry-a mermaid. During one performance I’m sitting backstage waiting to change the set for the next skit and the audience starts laughing...and laughing...and laughing, well past the punchline. Then I hear our lead actor say “Thank you mum!” Obviously not in the script, what the heck is going on? Then one of my cast mates comes darting by with her hands over her mouth, giggling like mad, and she informs me that our mermaid’s boob had popped out of her seashell bra and she had been obvious until the actress playing our enraged mom reached over and tucked it back in for her. During intermission our director quipped to the audience “I may have to charge you all extra for tonight!”

Kissing in public.
Women wearing “revealing” or short clothing.
Basically anything racist, homophobic and sexist.

Unless you're a show that that's accepted as the standard for, like Family Guy, which to date seems to get mostly free reign to do that (well, that might change due to Disney/Fox. Yeah they swear if it's R rated and makes money, it'll stay R rated. Then you see its standards elsewhere, like the Dumbo issue with Disney+) .

Trans people as three-dimensional characters. When I was growing up, they were relegated to a punch line at best, and a deviant or outright villain at worst.

Hitchcock put a shot of the girl's butt in the shower scene just so the censors would freak out about that and forget the flushed toilet, which was plot relevant

Yeah, now there's trans actress Jen Richards playing a CIA lead in Blindspot and I'm not even sure if they've made any sort of deal about her being there.
