Just realized that the Cruiserweight Classic was now three years ago. In that time we've gotten two Mae Young Classic tournaments following that same format.
I know it is pretty unlikely considering the bloated size of the roster now and the growing competition (and locking down of exclusive contracts). Given that the purpose of the two tournaments was to seed the cruiserweight and womens divisions it even seems unlikely we'll see another CWC or MYC.
I'd love to see another global tournament with male competitors though, either cruiserweights or open weight. Hell, give me a tag team global tournament.
Who would you want to see in such a tournament?

Technically, we’ve had two UK and a CWC, so that’s three for the men. Give me a tag team tournament, though.

I mean...those UK tournaments were pretty much CWCs in their own right. In those two tournaments only 12 of the 32 participants were over 205. Only 5 of them were above 220.
I would also like to see a tag tourney. Maybe a super-heavyweight (280 lbs and above) challenge, although I feel like WWE already hired most of the best super-heavyweights.

That is one problem with a hoss tournament, there seem to be far fewer decent big guys than cruiserweights. Or they just get posted about online less so I'm just not aware of them. An openweight tournament with some big guys thrown in wouldn't be a bad idea. |

A hoss tournament would be WAY less interesting, especially in WWE. There just aren't as many permutations as there are with cruiserweights, or with 'women' which when you line them up as a category like that shows you how insane it is that it took this long for them to be taken seriously by people, including me.
The cruiserweights have their own show already, and WWE already has plenty of hoss space. Neither of those needs this.
A tag team one sounds more interesting, but I mainly hope they keep doing the MYC each year while fostering a stronger and stronger women's roster so they can compete on the same level as the men eventually.

A super heavyweight tournament would be absolutely atrocious. Even if you exclusively packed it with good workers, which would be VERY hard to do, it'd pretty much all be the exact same type of match.

I'd love to see them expand the Dusty Classic, more teams, indie teams, a few thrown together, and some NXT teams. While I think Hunter and the NXT crew would be for it, I don't think Vince and the others would be with the added cost and liability.
Hell, Hunter finally got War Games, so maybe he could get this done too.

I'd like something akin to the Worlds Collide shows they've been doing: NXT, NXT UK, 205, and underutilized Raw and SmackDown guys all in a big single elimination tournament. Winner gets a trophy and a US or IC Title shot at an upcoming PPV (preferably either SummerSlam or Survivor Series, depending on when they do the tournament).
