For this, I am talking more codified factions, and not Taguchi Japan so I'm omitting that since, barring someone turning heel and joining one of the heel groups, people don't typically enter or leave it with much fanfare. That's fine for what it is, but it doesn't really lend itself to the topic I'm bringing up.
What I want to know is, what stables do you think could use some shaking up in the form of some new members or trimming fat? For the purposes of the thread, you cannot dissolve a stable entirely, so no just outright axing CHAOS or Bullet Club. You can split a group up by ousting members, sure, but the group must still exist after because, let's face it, people buy Bullet Club shirts, and besides, making do with what you have is a more interesting thought experiment.
Starting with CHAOS, they need either a new member or two, Goto to form a tag team or something to get out of his current shitty spot, or both. Goto's in an undeniable rut that NJPW openly mocks, so he needs something to do gnaw his way out of it. Besides, the heavyweight tag division is barren as hell. Maybe that would give him some lifeblood. He could team with Yoshi-Hashi, but that's... not an ideal solution, to put it mildly. If we're just talking a new member, I'd suggest Ibushi as a possibility, but then again, I don't know what they have to offer him, really. It'd be interesting to create tension between him and Okada, though, especially after the ordeal White put him through.
Bullet Club has a lot of members as it is, but I still feel that, if Jay White's their ace, he could use someone in the group who he has any kind of real attachment to, someone who has his back given most of the stable at this point are all the Tongans, who, if push came to shove, are watching each other's backs, not Jay's. I could see Ospreay potentially being a good candidate to jump ship to the Bullet Club for that reason.
LIJ: They're clearly in a holding pattern of sorts for Takahashi's return, which should be on the horizon. Shingo seems like he's poised to create some sort of shakeup not long after, I am sure, and hopefully, he will be going heavyweight after. Outside of that, Naito is hopefully going to get to make Okada eat his condescension. Good group, not really anything I'd currently change.
Suzuki-Gun: Minoru Suzuki is still excellent, but he's getting older. He seized control, and someday, he will probably not relinquish power willingly to his heir. The two most likely candidates would be Zack Sabre Jr., who has been groomed by Suzuki into having quite the sadistic streak, and Taichi, who isn't typically a favorite around here for much of the NJPW fans on here, but he has been pushed more lately, it feels like, and I think he's been rising to the occasion. He also took Iizuka's glove, didn't he? If he were to backstab Suzuki, it'd be quite poetic to use that in order to do it.
