I'm definitely going to that show. Anyone who's interested in going should note it will be their smallest venue to date so try to get the tickets as soon as possible.
Also, parking is aplenty but getting into the Fairgrounds when it's not the State Fair can be a pain in the ass.

Smart to have MJF getting a win on the first show. He's one of your top talents and should be showcased.

So...we all agree that the Sammy/Cody and Cutler/MJF matches should be less than 5 minutes correct? Cody's got a title shot coming up and they're trying to build MJF...it would do more harm than good if they do 50/50 booking here.

Cody's a lot more established with people than Page was, so there's no danger of the Sabian situation repeating itself. That said, I'm going to predict something like 12 minutes, with Sammy getting some close calls, but Cody gets him put away with the commentary stressing Cody's experience advantage over Sammy.

I've been running an AEW fed on 2k19, and it's infuriating not being able to fill out my tag division cuz of DLC

My issue is this, and this is why I probably would have preferred Cody just face off against a local jobber: like you said, Cody is more established than Page is, and certainly more established than Sammy. You tune in and you see Cody having trouble putting away Sammy who in the eyes of a casual, first time viewer is unknown. That hurts Cody moreso than Sammy. If Cody didn't have a title shot in November, do the 12 minute match but this needs to be a quick match. I'm not talking about a squash, Sammy can get some offense in, but Cody has to look dominant.

Really the biggest thing that has me worried is just how many matches are announced for the premiere - starting to sound like that's basically going to be the entirety of it with little in the way of promos or angles and while I don't want the show overflowing with them, you do definitely need to be putting over some characters early in.

I think they’ve only announced 4 matches.

I think Moxley is set to appear so hopefully something cool there. I agree though, we need characters and interesting stories. There is a lot of good wrestling out there, I hope they find a good balance.
The main thing is that by the end of the first show I wanna be excited for next weeks.

On the other hand, open on a 'quick match' as the starting point of your TV show and what have you really accomplished? Cody isn't the most exciting guy to have look dominant, his style works best in big, dramatic matches and this isn't going to be that, but a short put-away isn't going to help either. If someone's tuning in who doesn't know Sammy Guevara, are they really going to write Cody and the whole show off because he gets some offense in, or is a dude who do some neat stuff and work a match going to impress people by hitting back? Is a casual viewer really going to sit there hemming and hawing over match structure and relative power levels if they're that casual? Especially since at that point the bar is I guess 'Cody has been in WWE so everyone else is an unknown', and the card is primarily people who are some manner of unknown, so it feels weird to expect in this specific case people to not be open minded about finding out what these new and interesting people can do but then be able to watch the whole rest of the show

Cody vs Sammy will probably be around 10 mins long, Cutler vs MJF will probably be short but nowhere near a squash match.

Yeah, finals are definitely going to be the Bucks vs. the Dark Order.
Guess I know what point in the show to go buy a T-shirt.

Bold prediction:
Jurassic Express/Dark Order will be the final. I can absolutely see them pulling the upset over both the Lucha Bros and the Young Bucks, playing off the fact both are still recovering from the brutal ladder match. Either them or Private Party but I think Jurassic Express are the more over team right now.
Now who wins, it could go either way depending on a few factors but my heart says JE and my head says DO.
