That's shocking. I thought he was more drugs than man now? Yeah, I haven’t heard anything good about him in a long time. Dude had to be supervised around his infant child after the kid tested positive for cocaine at one point. I sincerely hope he’s doing better, I love T2, American History X and Jimmy and Judy. He had talent.

Man, if he didn't get involved in drug usage we could've had a complete Terminator trilogy. I'll watch it with Furlong returning, can't help but feel that ship has sailed.

New trailer just shadow dropped on us. So this... exists. I really don't know if this trailer is genuinely just uninteresting or if I'm just way too burnt out on the franchise, but I'm just completely unable to build up a single damn about this movie.

Yeah, there's only so much they can show you in a Terminator trailer to get hyped at this point; after the various attempts to carry on after T2, how many beats can you hit that would get someone who feels kind of burned by those other movies to sit up and pay attention? You'll see someone time traveling, you'll see a cameo from Arnold or someone else from the originals, you'll see chase scene clips, some kind of new Terminator, etc. Granted, with the talent involved I'm more willing to give this one a chance; with the producer/director team, I'm willing to hear it out that they might have put a story together that takes all the by now cliche stuff and actually does something interesting with it. Definitely will wait for some reviews on that front, though, not interested much in getting more of the same.

New trailer just shadow dropped on us. That trailer actually made me less excited for it. It looks pretty bad. I'll probably watch it anyway though. Also, I'm calling it now: Sara Connor dies in similar fashion to Han Solo.

As a Terminator movie...it looks okay? As an action movie...it looks pretty decent. At least it looks a LOT better than the previous two movies. EDIT: Apparently there's a cool little cameo in the trailer. One of the border patrol agents that talks to whomever the main villain Terminator is. Must be his lucky day.

The "main" Terminator being the guy who played Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD amuses me.

It just looks bad. I thought John Conner saved the humans? So who is this girl to save us all again?

I've felt the same since 2 honestly. Though Salvation is the only one I've seen outside of the first two. It wasn't bad, it was fine. I kinda feel like that's this franchise now and has been for nearly 30 years-- it's fine. Can't take away the quality of the first two, but there's way more mediocre than good as a whole.

It looks okay? I just can't bring myself to get super excited over it, but very few action movies make me hyped these days. It's very much a 'wait for the reviews' watch for me.
The problem this movie trailer has is the things that would get people interested that are in it have already been done, and done badly to boot, so people are reminded of that. Seeing callbacks to Genesys makes it was to forget that the people who made the good Terminator films are working on it.

I'm probably the only person on the planet who really liked Terminator 3. 4 did nothing for me and I've yet to see Genesis.
This looks like something I'd see on a day with nothing better to do. But, it's just like...WHY?
What's the point? Terminator was an excellent movie. Terminator 2 was, arguably, a PERFECT movie. Move on. There are a million stories about time-travelling robots that you can do that don't involve the Terminator.
The same is true for just about all of these attempts at reboots and sequels. Stop wasting the abilities of extremely talented people on cash-grabs that may or not be just okay. Do something original. Maybe don't give it a budget of 100+ million dollars out of the gate, but take a chance on something that wasn't cool in the freakin' 80's.
We're getting Bill and Ted 3. Bill. And Ted. THREE. 25+ years after Bill and Ted 2. And it involves all the right people to all-but guarantee that it will be pretty good. But, come on people. Keanu was was ahead of the curve on this. Keep moving forward. He was Ted. He was also the guy in Speed. And Neo. And John Wick. He found time in between to kill Dracula.
Robocop is the perfect example. Robocop was freaking great right? Perfect movie. Every single subsequent attempt to sequelize or reboot Robocop has been poor. All of them. Two theatrical sequels. A TV series. Two cartoons. A dozen comic book series (one of which proved that even Frank Miller's original vision of Robocop 2 was...meh...)
Are there THAT many die-hard Terminator fans to justify these sequels? Are there THAT many people who'll just go to see a Terminator movie, regardless of anything else, because "**** yeah! Terminator"? The *youngest* of those people are in their mid 30's by now. Terminator 2's "core audience" is in their early 50's. That's not the demographic you'd bank on selling movie tickets to.

You could make the same argument against any franchise movie, including most of the superheroes. Who cares about Iron Man? He's not been relevant since the 60's! The good Terminator films didn't stop existing in 1995, new people didn't stop watching them and the characters didn't vanish from pop culture, while yes, there were bad films, new people watched and liked the good ones in that time. A franchise's pre existing fanbase is a leg up, a guarantee there will be a minimum number of fans who'll see it on name value, giving you a head start on marketing at a time that is pretty much half the entire budget.
