I'm probably the only person on the planet who really liked Terminator 3. 4 did nothing for me and I've yet to see Genesis. This looks like something I'd see on a day with nothing better to do. But, it's just like...WHY? What's the point? Terminator was an excellent movie. Terminator 2 was, arguably, a PERFECT movie. Move on. There are a million stories about time-travelling robots that you can do that don't involve the Terminator. The same is true for just about all of these attempts at reboots and sequels. Stop wasting the abilities of extremely talented people on cash-grabs that may or not be just okay. Do something original. Maybe don't give it a budget of 100+ million dollars out of the gate, but take a chance on something that wasn't cool in the freakin' 80's. We're getting Bill and Ted 3. Bill. And Ted. THREE. 25+ years after Bill and Ted 2. And it involves all the right people to all-but guarantee that it will be pretty good. But, come on people. Keanu was was ahead of the curve on this. Keep moving forward. He was Ted. He was also the guy in Speed. And Neo. And John Wick. He found time in between to kill Dracula. Robocop is the perfect example. Robocop was freaking great right? Perfect movie. Every single subsequent attempt to sequelize or reboot Robocop has been poor. All of them. Two theatrical sequels. A TV series. Two cartoons. A dozen comic book series (one of which proved that even Frank Miller's original vision of Robocop 2 was...meh...) Are there THAT many die-hard Terminator fans to justify these sequels? Are there THAT many people who'll just go to see a Terminator movie, regardless of anything else, because "**** yeah! Terminator"? The *youngest* of those people are in their mid 30's by now. Terminator 2's "core audience" is in their early 50's. That's not the demographic you'd bank on selling movie tickets to. The thing I liked best about 3 was at a time where chase scenes were mostly muscle cars, T3 came along and did like a firetruck and giant crane truck in a chase.

As a Terminator movie...it looks okay? As an action movie...it looks pretty decent. At least it looks a LOT better than the previous two movies. EDIT: Apparently there's a cool little cameo in the trailer. One of the border patrol agents that talks to whomever the main villain Terminator is. Must be his lucky day. Is it the twins from T2 and Gremlins 2?

If this carries the timeline of T2:JD forward, why or how is there an Arnold T-800 hanging around (living in the woods?!?)?
Sarah and preteen John Connor lowered "Uncle Bob" into the molten hot metal at the end, resulting in the iconic thumbs up.

People tend to focus on the lame attempts at humour but aside from that and the fact Nick Stahl was really wooden at points it's not too bad.

I’ve never actually seen any of the Terminators except for Genisys, and I only saw that because I’m a big Khaleesi fan, but I feel weirdly compelled to watch this one. I think I’m drawn in by the novelty of a 60 something year old woman being the star of an action movie.

Yeah, 3 wasn’t that bad really.
But I think it failed to capture a spark, and I dunno what it was: the action was good, arnie was good, I liked Stahl. The Terminator in it was okay but I remember it kinda going out lame. And while I loved the end..I think that’s where the problem lies. I like the end it just..makes everything feel moot, I guess.
Salvation was a mess, genysis felt lame, and I absolutely hate that I thought this trailer looked good.

This isn't the T-800 that was sent back in T2 and helped her. This is the T-800 she thought she destroyed in the first film.

Yeah, T2 terminator melted... unnless this is the child's play 3 plot where that factory just starts building terminators.

I just hope it isn't the old trope of it's just the guy the T-800 model was based on. Saw that in Aliens and too many other places.

The "main" Terminator being the guy who played Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD amuses me. And playing Ghost Rider in his own series. Good to see Luna getting regular work. He's a solid actor.

I don't think the aged T-800 will have any relation to the first two. My guess is that he's a 2nd Terminator sent back by John Connor just in case.

Speaking of, I find it interesting that there's been no shots of John Connor in the two released trailers. I wonder if even showing him would reveal something about the plot they don't want revealed? And I personally love Madison's theory.

This most recent trailer makes it look much better than the first one.
As for the T-800 theory little difficult to lockdown because he is a good guy and the only way that happened previously was he was reprogrammed by the resistance before being sent back in time.
So John sent back multiple T-800s that the resistance reprogammed during T2 or just slightly after only thing that makes any plausable sense without really mucking things up.

Maybe like sleeper Terminators? Once the one fulfilled the mission, the others just melted into the background. Becoming flannel wearing survivalists in Idaho.

Hwood doesnt want to risk trying anything new , Im sure in a few yrs theyll remake Jaws whether we want it or not
(at least MASK , DoE or Bravestarr wouldve been trying something new)
T3 was okay , never saw T4 but T5 was non-sensical to me....so Im skeptic about this one
