Not just talking the DoN card and results. Presentation. Aesthetics. Roster. Announcing.
Break everything down that matters to you or catches your eye so far, positive and negative. How are they doing one show in? What can improve? What little things do ya have strong opinions about already?

They do definitely need to polish up the production, and they need to get better at presenting the entrances because the lack of proper spacing on them made everyone's music bleed together.
On the whole though it's really what I wanted out of it. A lot of the spectacle of what makes WWE work, but the atmosphere of the thing felt much more loose and fun.

If blading is a regular feature of their shows it may be a deal breaker for me.
Outside that, their values and ethics, the presentation, the willingness to be a wrestling show, the way they were able to cover for mistakes by improvising because they weren't micromanaged to a fault... I am funnily enough, all in.

it felt refreshing. Nothing felt too much of the same, even comparing to the show itself.
Camera angles are pretty nice and professionaly made, the setup looked incredible.
Not a very much into most of their theme songs, they are pretty okay, nothing special.
Some of the roster I really want to see more.I can see the appeal of Douchy guy but still not sold on him.A little to over the top for me.

A little messy but a lot of heart. Like an evolution/hybrid of 2000's WWE, WCW, indies, with a dash of TNA (the tunnels lol). Some A+ matches, while maybe not A+ production but a damn great start.

Solid start. I think some folks expect them to be perfection immediately, from production to booking, but they gotta start somewhere. I will never expect a wrestling show to be perfect, I just want the good to outweigh the bad, and tonight they did way more good than bad. There's some production hiccups and stuff you'd expect from a new company, but the content of the show was top notch to me.

I'm extremely optimistic going forward. I feel like they demonstrated how to strike the right tones and not have whiplash between every segment. Belt looks good, AEW logo might be a tad big, but maybe it just needs to grow on me or I need to see it in other lighting, etc, to properly get a feel for it. Announcing was surprisingly good. JR seemed engaged, and Excalibur was doing a good job bouncing off of him. ALso some other guy was there. Roster-wise, I really like what we're seeing. I feel like we're getting variety without it just feeling like they hit the Random button. I guess right now, I just am curious what will be part of the show going forward, and who was just here for the big night. Like, I have no idea if Kong was a one night surprise, or if she's back to regular competition.

The production needs some polishing.
Probably need some interviews and stuff as we get going, but I expect that to trickle in.
Wrestling-wise, the show was an A++. I think Cody vs Dustin stole the show.
My only complaint is that commentary completely dropped the ball after Best Friends vs Angelico/Jack Evans match during the attack. They didn't explain anything. They sat there dumbfounded, when they should've been explaining what the hell was going on to anyone who's new to wrestling that isn't WWE. Bad commentary, bad producing of commentary. Needs to be addressed and fixed.

They need to have more defined roles for the announcers the commentary improved as the night went on but at times Marvez, JR, and Excallibur were all basically bumping into each other.
Production wise there were a few missteps but I take that as being inexperience.
I actually think the next show or 2 should really bring focus away from the Elite... minus Hangman who needs to be built up. That isnt really anti elite either. I think after tonight MJF, Sabian, Havoc, Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus if signed, Britt Baker, and Kylie Rae just deserve more attention

There were some rough spots here and there with the presentation, but overall, I dig it. And those rough spots are only going to get ironed out and refined with more experience taping live events. I also liked the DoN set's theming, and the whole aesthetic with the ring aprons, ropes, turnbuckles, guardrails, etc. It felt modern and flashy without being gaudy and overbearing. The separate entrances to the ramp for faces and heels was also a nice touch. Really curious to see what future sets will be like for future shows like Fyter Fest, Fight For the Fallen, and All Out, as well as the regular TV tapings.
Commentary was a mixed bag, but then considering what's been out there for commentary teams in other feds, I can't hate it too much. I'd expect it to get better as they do more work together. At the very least, there's no one overbearing to the point of taking you out of the matches. I also liked Justin Roberts as ring announcer when he worked for WWE so good to see him back.

Unlike WWE the 3 men team really works well . JR was really good , the best commentary from him in a long time
The entrance music could use a little work , most sounded very generic , except Jericho his was great
The shots taken at WWE were a little petty , I hope thats the end of that
Didnt care for the blade job , the match would worked just as well without it
Aside from that , great start

I only watched before and after the basketball game, but I liked the presentation.
I didn’t love JR tonight, to be honest, though. He might have been better when I wasn’t watching, but what I saw I didn’t think was particularly great.
Jon Moxley is a real needle-mover. That’s a big, big get. He’s a legit star and a really key piece going forward.
Also, MJF is going to be a superstar. He is tremendous. What an absolute odious shitheel. He’s just a complete asshole. I love him so much.

In terms of production, they need a David Lagana figure for TV to guide things like graphics, camera work and the like since that’ll at least fine tune stuff and get a real direction.
Not to say anything was stand out bad but there were niggles that’d be sorted out with a strong presence fronting it.

Wonderful variety in the ring and in terms of characters.
Commentary improved as the night went on, especially Excalibur, who almost seemed a bit nervous at first but ended up being spectacular by the end.
Definitely a few hiccups to iron out on production, but nothing damning, just small details that can make a big difference. Loved loved LOVED that they didn't give too much of a damn about the hard cam, just let the action be organic and feel more authentic.
Going to be interesting to see how the lower and mid cards shake out, which guys will be around full time and which will work now and then while still working indies, that kind of thing, but I'm guessing we'll see that evolve over time.
Overall, though, a great first foot forward.

Yeah I've been a huge fan of MJF for awhile. There just arent many people out there that can universally make everybody hate him. WwE is gonna be furious they missed out on him. And he is a perfect guy to pair with Hangman if you are wanting Page as a legit main eventer

What needs to be fixed: Production issues Commentary(Marvaez wasnt good, he is even worse than Josh Matthews and Matt Striker). I want to add getting a new timekeeper because Im still mad how he ruined the great Joshi match.
Give Super Smash Bros mic time and they will make up their disappointing debut.

Presentation was cool, you can see where they're going with it. There's a really good mix there once it's fine-tuned but for the first night? It was good. Belt has a lot going on, maybe it'll look different when someone's wearing it but I'm not feeling it much. Pacing was dope. Matches were great. Commentary was there, I mean nothing was really "bad" to me. Sure, some stuff was under-whelming but nothing "bad."
Here's a big thing I wanna address.
Legit characters. Just amazing. Some had gimmicks, some didn't but one thing that stuck out to me is that I realized who was who within minutes and that's not counting commentary for most of the time. I'm not gonna lie, I tuned out for commentary for most of the viewing and besides the dentist and Moxley's appearance at the end, most of it missed me. The fact I knew who was who, the story that they were telling without commentary is big. WWE has this thing with force feeding you guys based on the commentary. Nah, we don't need that.
Overall what it had was a mix of everything. You even had more "common sense" logic in wrestling such as only using the things that look like they hurt the opponent IE legit tables, it didn't feel fake like that cardboard shit WWE's used. You had symbolism. You had blood. You had comedy. You had seriousness. You had sadness. You had happiness.
It was more like a variety bag that's a mix of WWE's entertainment, NJPW's presentation and legit sporting events which I appreciated. Sure, Moxley appearing at the end made me say "ok let's get this shit" before that hit they already had me a great amount. I believe in what they're doing. It felt special.
