If Denly and Moeen Ali are in the team for the 2nd Test then the urn should just be handed over to Australia there and then.

Not a fan of too much chopping and changing, so Denly would get another chance for me. Let's hope he uses it. Like England must have been close to dropping Burns before the last test, he went out and hit 120 odd.
Moeen on the other hand is out of chances, I'm afraid. He looks utterly hopeless at the moment and needs a long time away from the England setup.

He tore it up in a Sussex 2nd XI game last week taking a ton of wickets and hitting a ton. Maybe Archer and the nightwatchman hero Leach can make up for the runs that Denly wont get!

The second test is scheduled to start today at Lord's, but it looks like it could end up being highly affected by weather if forecasts are anything to go by.
For Australia, their only change for this match is expected to be Hazlewood coming in for Pattinson.

No play on day one because of rain, so we start day two with England batting first.
And an early wicket for Australia, as well, with Hazlewood dismissing Roy.

England not playing well. Paine sending them in looking like an inspired decision. 138/6 with a couple of dropped chances too! Australia may just be batting today.

Indeed they will. England all out for 258.

I think they're all still pissed up from celebrating winning the World Cup.

I think they're all still pissed up from celebrating winning the World Cup. I know you are joking but I think there is a World Cup hangover with the English players.

At the end of a rain-interrupted third day, Australia are only 4/80. Doesnβt seem like weβll get a winner out of this match, but both teams are giving plenty of help to the bowling attacks.

End of day four, and itβs possible there could be a result, after all. Australia were dismissed for 250, with Smith falling just short of another century. In their second innings, England are 4/96.

Amazing performance from stokes.
Real shame about Smith though, in the spirit of competition, you donβt want to see any teams player, let alone best player, have to stop due to injury.

Match ends in a draw, so the series remains at 1-0 Australia with three matches to play.

The third test of the series begins today at Headingley, with Australia making three changes to their team from the last match. Labuschagne in for the injured Smith, Pattinson coming in for Siddle and Harris making his first appearance of the series in for the struggling Bancroft.
England are likely to be unchanged, although Roy is going through concussion protocols after a blow to the head in net sessions this week.

Day one ends with Australia all out for 179, with Archer claiming six of the ten wickets with some excellent fast bowling. Only Warner and Labuschagne showed any resistance with the bat.

Somehow England did even worse, with Australia taking just over a session to bowl them out for a measly 67.

Australia end the second day at 6/171, amassing a lead that will almost certainly be over 300 for England to try and chase down. Still not even halfway through the damn time allotted for the match.

End of day three, and England are 3/156 in their second innings chasing down 359 to win the match.
