I was on the last mission in Horizon: Zero Dawn and just never went back for some reason, but I swear I'm going to one day

Hellblade - I lost all interest in it and kinda hate it, but I still want to finish it for whatever reason.
Cuphead - I love the game, but the difficulty makes me want to throw the remote through the wall. I'd love to complete it eventually.
The Messenger - Loved the first part of the game, but oh how I hate the late portion of the game.

Grand Theft Auto IV - got about a 1/3 of the way through the game, lent the system to a friend for a couple months, get it back to find he'd been playing over my save instead of starting a new one, so i missed a large chunk of the story. i've restarted it a few times, but the beginning is so slow i give up and play something else
Edler Scrolls IV: Oblivion - i've probably sunk more time into that game than any other, but i never played far into the main story, just focused on side quests, exploring, and pissing off the guards and trying to get away

Persona 5. Love love love the game, but I hate desert levels and that f***ing pyramid.
Once I get a guide to whip through it, I'm sure I'll finish the rest.

Secret of Mana’s shitty PS4 remake. But every time I go back I just get sad it looks like a mobile port with godawful voice acting, and I just want to play the OG.
I’ll second Hellblade... I was in when it first came out, but then remember reading something about permadeath, or dying screwing up your game or something and I quit then and there.

I want to complete Xenoblade Chronicles X, but I always get distracted doing side stuff, along with having like a bazillion combat mechanics I hardly understand.
Rising Superstar Liam once described the game as something he felt like he'd need to complete a community college course to understand the game fully, and it does sometimes feel that way.
Shame, given I DO like the game, but still.

Octopath Traveller is another one ... there’s a lack of motivation though because it’s a bunch of small stories instead of the heroes coming together to save the world.
I love it when I give it a chance though.

Wild ARMs 1.
I've abandoned and started over the game 5 times now.
The last time I abandoned it was with only the last dungeon (though there are some endgame sidequests I haven't done) to go.
I even went through the trouble of naming every spell after its closest Phantasy Star equivalent.

Syphon Filter 3. I got stuck in a canyon without enough ammunition to get through. Starting over has been on my to do list for the last 18 years.

Dragon Quest XI. Got to the endgame, logged about 75 hours, started grinding to get to the absolute final boss, then briefly stopped to start playing something else and just never picked it up again.
Also, I know I was close to the end of Suikoden 4, already had all 108 stars of destiny, and basically just had the final boss to go.
Actually, now that I think of it, that's a recurring theme for me. I play a JRPG, get close to the end, start grinding in order to get up to level to fight the final boss, get bored with grinding, and then either start a new game like 2 years later or just never finish it.

Octopath’s style reminds me so much of FF6 it makes me sad my crew isn’t going against that game’s version of Kefka.

In this console generation I've been highly selective about the games I get. So I have a good completion rate, with one exception, I got distracted from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I loved the game, so I'll very likely go back one day. I may just start over though, seeing as it's been so long. Maybe I'll get the motivation to return when the Netflix show starts up.

Octopath is really a cross between Romancing SaGa and Bravely Default, more than anything else.

The truth is I've never beaten Sonic 2. Got to the final boss once but never beat it. I keep saying I'm going to give it another legit shot but never do.

Super Mario Brothers. Never beat it. Did beat 2&3 back in the day. Should try again.

I'm also keeping Super Mario World in my back pocket until I can either Stream or Youtube it.
I'm awful at games, so there might be a market in watching me suck at them until I finally punch through.

Cuphead - as soon as I figure out why my laptop won't f****ng start Cuphead anymore
Mega Man 10 - The castle is just such a pain that I need a large chunk of time to dedicate to it. But I will eventually.
