Blazers fully guarantee Melo deal for this year If Melo both keeps playing well and the Blazer are outside the playoff race I wonder if they might trade him for assets near the deadline

At worst they release him so he can sign with a playoff team A few teams could use him for sure

Nahhhhhh When he decides to retire sure but Knicks season already lost. Tanking for a top 3 pickΒ I don't want the Knicks to compete, I want Stephen A. Smith to whine some more. Ever since he told someone to "go to hell" after the caller said Carmelo was available, I want Anthony to come back to the Knicks just for that reason.

Stephen A wanted Melo to come back if they got the players He'd be mad for the reason I would be. Why the f*** would you sign him when you are trying to lose. The fact that this team is in theory better than last year and somehow losing even more is insane

Melo is a great option for a team that needs instant offense either off the bench or to keep teams honest if you're not stacked with scorers.

According to Woj: David Fizdale's been fired by the Knicks. Two straight losses of 35 points will do that for you Can't say I will miss him. I got a lot of crow to eat with that one because I liked him over Mark Jackson and argued with my family on this but he turned out to be all the way trash

I thought he was a good pick for coach. Of course, he wasn't helped out at all by Mills, Perry, and Dolan in terms of team construction.
It's even sadder that Mike Budenholzer wanted the Knicks job and they picked Fizdale over him. Bucks were his fallback option.

Mills and Perry are on the hot seat as well. This roster full of vets which was supposed to at least make the team competent is not even good Randle needs to get traded as soon as possible. Mills and Perry were stupid in how they did this. I know they want to keep cap space open but they should have been taking on trades and getitng picks. They could have taken the 2 year deal of Crabbe, one year deal of Parsons, Igoudala contract etc and got a good amount of 1st round picks to horde Their new pipe dream is now they will get Masai from Toronto and Giannis in 2021

To give you an idea of how dire the Knicks are, business-wise: local viewership for the team in the New York metro area (that has 21 million people) are a miserable 48,000 people. The New York Rangers (who are also owned by Dolan and are broadcast on the same network) get just under 100k viewers. And New York is seen as much more of a basketball town than a hockey town.

To be fair 100K viewers in an area of 21 Million when your team has a winning record is actually a good case for it being almost a niche sport.

The biggest problem is the garden still sells out and the Knicks are still the most valued franchise somehow Until Dolan is gone this madness will continue
