Meanwhile, Tom Holland has said similar things to Brie and hasn’t incurred nearly the same vitriol that she has. I’ll let you figure out why. I don't know all about that jazz of white people and what not. But I remember she is pretty self-important and kinda annoying in interviews, like ironically everything should revolve around her.I wouldn't be surprised that is part of the issue. Tom Holland in the other hard is pretty nice and loveable dude.Anyway not going to get into an argument about it because it really doesn't matter. There is a video"Charisma On Command" about the Brie situation which is pretty chill about it and why she rubs people the wrong way. Some of it from scenes you can see from these thumbnails but much less rude and paranoid. True, but it's not like likeability has any real bearing on it, Kelly Marie Tran said nothing and is a total sweetheart and she got chased off the internet with pitchforks.

I understand why it’s popular to watch, but man “reaction videos”, the genre of the videos themselves are so weird. I was looking up Endgame reviews and some of the recommended videos were reaction videos and some of them looked like they were filming themselves in the theatre as they were watching so they could get an immediate reaction. Dude what kind of of attention seeking douche you gotta be “I gotta film myself to show others how I react to watching this other thing” It’s like the gender reveal parties of the internet. Yeah, some reactor channels contribute to how "anti-hype" I am at a lot of things, MCU in particular, I see people flake out at stuff that generates only mild excitement from me I said I agreed with some of her points, largely about Brie and Star Trek, I don't look at every video she makes. If I missed anything racist, I'll take your word for it. Bowsltrek and Nerdorotic are far worse.

People in the thumbnail making a clearly staged facial expression.
Emojis plastered all over the thumbnail.
Overly long video titles.
Someone saying they called a fictional character from a movie, game, etc and they "answered" the phone, while they cover their mouth in the thumbnail.
Clips from a late night talk show that were clearly designed to be a viral internet fad.

Any youtuber (Blampied was terrible for this in particular) who doesn't speak like a normal person.
INSTEAD! THEY! OVER! EMPHASISE! EVERY! WORD! AT! A! CONSTANT! HIGH! LEVEL! AND! GESTICULATE! WILDLY! LIKE! A! CARTOON! CHARACTER!
It doesn't add anything, it's clearly not natural and if everything is pitched at that level then it's just wearing and nothing is exciting. If you can't be an interesting speaker naturally, no manner of gestures will help you. If you can't make your topic interesting WITHOUT! DOING! THIS! then you're either doing it wrong or your subject isn't worthy of a video.
Oh and add to this "10 [blanks] you didnt know about [blank]" audio click bait, at least 5 of which are really, really commonly known and another 3 are widely debunked

Well, the ending probably sucked, then.

That level is certainly absurd, but some reaction videos can be fun. I think it's a little like showing a friend or a kid a movie, etc, they've never seen before. You get to experience their surprise and other reactions vicariously, and that can be fun, depending on what it is. Doing it to the detriment of other people in the theater, though, is definitely bad.

Tuesday DVD/Blu Ray Shopping Video, 55-60 minute long video, only 8-10 minutes of which are actual 'shopping' (in reality just going into stores and showing what is new out), 5-7 minutes of intro, saying where they are going and doing a quick movie review referring to the actor/actress by character (for example Peter Parker's character is ...) then the remaining 40-45 minutes of the video is reviews of freebie movies and occasional sub boxes or limited editions.
Contrast to another weekly Youtube video I watch with a similar theme, but the Youtuber has half the time, similar content but actually shows what they BOUGHT not recieved for free

When the intro graphics are longer than the actual video content. This what I came here to post. They don't have to be longer than the video but if it's overly long then you know it's going to suck because they're padding it. Often times the intro is just their logo too.

Any Nostalgia Critic video where Doug and his friends act out scenes from the movie instead of showing clips from that movie.

When the subject is Brie Larson and/or Captain Marvel. Nothing wrong with Mecharandom. She's cool in my book, I agree with a lot of her points. I'm shocked its a she. Seeing a youtuber with like a dozen Brie Larson videos my mind pictured a guy in his mid 30s, bad black beard, curly black hair with a bald spot at the back which he hides beneath a Panama hat. Overweight, glasses, obsessed with "retro" and 80s nostalgia. Wears a shit about some 80s cult movie. Starts sentences with "I'm not racist but.. ", calls others snowflakes but fumes over pro-feminist comnents or Starbucks coffee cups. The fact its a she is a genuine shock to me.
