That was the epitome of a professional title defence by Jones. He did just enough to retain.
You hafta think he knew very early on that Santos’s leg was toast and he adjusted based on that and never really gave him the opportunity for a home run by keeping his right hand up as often as possible.
And Santos still caught him a couple of times flush, but he’s got an incredible chin.
That was a good fight. Helluva performance by Santos.

A Spider type defense before he got lazy with his performances He knew what he had to do and executed his game plan. In this case he played the 5 rounds to the fullest and did what he had to do

Santos won that fight on one leg, Jones did NOTHING. BS decision imo No. Santos only took Rd1. The rest were Jones. Once Santos' knee went out he was behind.

#AndStill Barely They gonna rematch? It’s not as if there’s a ton of folks at 205 anyways. Apart from Reyes anyways and he’s damn sure not ready. Well there is always Johnny Walker.

I guess Ben Askren has no chin. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Its bit unfair to say that when a flying knee like that would most likely KO 95% of MMA fighters alive.

Damn shame that Santos knee let him down last night. Wouldn’t have been mad at the decision either way.
All three judges have Blachowicz the first round against Rockhold.

I know he's a wrestler but approximately how far in the negatives is Ben Askren's fight IQ that he shoots for a double leg from 47 feet away at a sprinting opponent?

Disagree, I had the fight 3 rounds Jones to 2 rounds Santos. Problem with it (and I kept saying this at the bar) was that Jones needed to go after that leg like a shark smelling blood and he only really went after the leg in the final round. Otherwise, he went more for the head (and most of the time missed). He did what Rousey did against Holm and wanted that sweet knockout. He's lucky the judges gave him a split decision and didn't screw him on that.

As far as that went, yeah....Dana just basically lost on the Johnson-Askren trade with Askren winning his first fight in controversial fashion and then that in his next fight. Dude got exposed out there and it is gonna take a while for him to come back from where he is not considered a punchline.

In as far as the Lawler fight went, I actually thought Askren won fair and square, though he looked terrible doing it and the fight could have just as easily been stopped seconds into the first round when Lawler dunked him on his head and rearranged his face. Between that performance and this one, though, yeah, he's pretty much been exposed. Both men he has fought in the UFC have absolutely had their way with him. I wouldn't say Dana lost though. That dude is so petty that he is probably honestly thrilled to have Askren get whooped in the UFC and prove himself right this entire time, haha. Plus Askren has proven to be a bonafide draw so the extra attention he brings helps.

Jorge’s post-fight press conference was an all-timed too:
Love that dude. Mainly from the competition show Exatlon Estados Unidos that he was on last year. He was great on that.
Okay but this was a fun response:
And maybe the most prophetic statement of all-time (the 2nd video)

Despite his loss Askren has already contributed more to the UFC than DJ ever did in terms of interest so im sure Dana isnt mad at all.
