The problem with anti-vaxxers is that they're not going to accept being wrong about the whole thing when you present them with logic, facts, or evidence that their views are not only wrong, but dangerous. They're more likely to dig in their heels if anything because their egos override common sense. The shutting them out/down entirely only started after YEARS of people trying to convince them in vain that they're doing wrong by their kids. It's like arguing with a wall with these people. The "let's hear both sides" thing is fallacious in this case because it assumes equivalency and that the anti-vax side has arguments with merit. It doesn't.
They don't deserve a platform because their platform actively harms the human species.

I've really never had one, not into needles and I don't ever get sick so it was just one of those things that made me go don't think I need that. You should get one.

I've really never had one, not into needles and I don't ever get sick so it was just one of those things that made me go don't think I need that. Just because you don't get sick, doesn't mean you shouldn't consider getting one for the health risks others have. Yes, you have better chances of combating the flu if you've had your body fight off a weakened version of it, but those less fortunate who are either allergic or unable to get the shots due to weak immune systems or medication complications may not be as lucky if you happen to be a carrier of the virus despite having a strong enough immune system to handle it. It's the same kind of argument that those who argue against vaccinations: "I've never gotten polio, and nobody I know has gotten polio, why should I get vaccinated from it if it doesn't happen?" Herd mentality only works if those who are able to protect themselves from illness do so in a timely fashion to prevent the spreading of these germs and stopping them before they reach someone who it can impact. I had my previous post deleted due to a mass deletion of other threads, but I still feel it is important to share this to stop this misconception and misinformation being spread around. If you have time, please watch the following videos to get better and more accurate explanations as to why we get vaccines and flu shots:

I find it appalling that anyone would rather risk their children’s lives simply because they are afraid they might develop autism. I would rather have a kid with autism (My youngest is on the spectrum) than have that kid die of a preventable disease. I find it annoying that some people never learn that correlation does not equal causation. Let’s say you have some diarrhea on the same day your neighbor plays his stereo particularly loudly. Did you get the runs because Steve next door was rocking out to Warrant’s “Cherry Pie”? Do you think there could possibly be any other cause? Yes, there has been an increase in autism diagnoses. That does not mean that vaccines are to blame, especially since that has been thoroughly tested. I can think of several factors that antivaxxers ignore: 1) We are better at diagnosing autism. We are also more likely to test for it than in the past. 2) Every person in the US is regularly exposed to pollutants that they are unaware ofu. For example, basically every single person in the Rust Belt has some degree of contamination from C8, which can cause a myriad of health problems, because DuPont dumped millions of tons of the stuff into the Ohio River. Movies like Erin Brockovich and A Civil Action highlight other bad actors (not so fun facts: the first company, PG&E, also causes a lot of wildfires in California while the second, WR Grace & Co, is famous for at least 4 major pollution lawsuits across the country in my lifetime alone). 3) Did you know that we can estimate when you died by how radioactive your skeleton is? I am not referring to carbon dating. I am talking about how much radiation from human activity your body absorbed from the atmosphere before you died. This used to not be a thing, but it is now in the nuclear era. Warrant's "Cherry Pie" causes diarrhea! News at 11!

The only good thing about hypodermic needles is that they hurt less than I.V needles!

Speaking as an Aspie, f*** anti-vaxxers and their rhetoric towards autism. If a child doesn't get it's vaccines, social services should then be involved. It should be a legal requirement (obviously with the exception of preexisting conditions that prevent the child from being vaccinated). Repeated failures to vaccinate should result in fines and possibly even removal of the child.
Not saying anything original here I know.

Anti-vaxxers need to be shamed everywhere they go. They need to be told they are actually monsters responsible for outbreaks and death every single time they go out. This stupid shit needs to be put to bed. They did their homework...which is like 25 minutes of Googling. I wholeheartedly believe we need a better education system that introduces peer reviewed research to kids in high school so parents like this don't happen. These people don't remotely understand scientific research or the academia that goes into it.

Even if vaccines caused autism, and they don't, if you'd rather have a dead kid than an autistic kid, you are not fit to be a parent to begin with.

On a completely unrelated matter, Hi I'm Lilith and I'm autistic.

As someone that works for the NHS here in the U.K:
1) I get my flu jab every year, and I’m in my mid-30s. Honestly, it’s done wonders for me, especially in flu season.
2) I really hope we follow the lead of some other countries where vaccinations for children are a legal obligation.
3) To anyone that has doubts over the origin of the “controversy” surrounding the MMR (triple) vaccination, go read in to the expose surrounding Dr. Andrew Wakefield. That guy did more to harm modern medicine than anyone else in history, in my opinion. And all because he wanted to sell his own individual (single) vaccinations. For me, the true definition of a hack fraud.
