He had two short runs there but when would have been the best time you think for him to have a big run? Did the wwf ever have interest in him pre 1993 overdose?

I'm shocked Vince wasn't interested in him a Hogan foil in the late 80s) early 90s. That being said the Freebirds brief run in the 80s may have soured him on bringing Gordy back. Plus I wonder if his commitments to Baba were an issue with signing in New York.

Back in '86 Gordy would have gassed quickly against Hogan and they already had a much more talented goon in Adrian Adonis. I get the feeling that Randy Savage would have exposed his limitations as well. So he'd have been stuck in the mid card losing to Junkyard Dog.

Vince never wanted Gordy. He only took him the first time because he wanted Hayes and the other two were part of the package. The second time was strictly a favor to Hayes. Supposedly, Vince saw nothing in Gordy, thought he looked too doughy to be a tough guy and was no fan of his drawl.
