I think AJ's heel run as champion was the last world title reign I really enjoyed.

Genuine question - who do y’all want as champion? It feels like anyone this company puts forth as the top guy gets dumped on by this board. I think a lot of people have nope'd out of the program in general. The booking hasn't helped, but I don't see a single person who would be universally accepted. Big E would have been fun, but he wasn't beating Brock.

That's not true. 99% of the people in this thread said Cesaro, Big E or Zayn would have been dope here. We were all rooting for them. I mean, people even said they were ok with Orton of all people winning this. Just not the people we constantly see in these title matches like Rollins, Corbin, Strowman and of course Reigns. They put the belt on Bray. Dude was forgettable. They put it on Owens. Dude was a joke. They put the belt on f***ing Jinder. Put it on somebody new. Anybody. But for god's sake...stick with them and make them look like a champion. People were cheering for Lashley, Big E, Cesaro, and even Orton. They have guys they can make mega-stars, but they f***ing stick with worn out Seth, Roman, Braun, and Corbin. Yep, they had options but we get the same ol people. That's the problem. When we get new people they start slowing down on them and go with others who they like more, sad but it is what it is.

Here's the problem with Lesnar's booking: He's been so invincible, so much the final boss of a video game, that whoever beats him ends up with zero heat because there's nowhere to go after that. It's really weird and counter intuitive. When Reigns beat him last year at SS he ended up with zero momentum and spent time doing Shield matches until the cancer scare. This year Rollins beat him but then spent his title reign dicking around with Corbin. That's the problem with a wrestler as a final boss. There's nowhere to go once that boss is beaten. Same deal with Bayley beating Charlotte to end her PPV streak. She beat the final boss, even won at WM on top of that. She beat the game, now it's time to get buried by Alexa.
I mean there were worse options than Seth tonight. Zayn is so beyond hope it's not funny. Rey is a jobber right now. We know Corbin needs to get away from the title scene. I might have gone with Lashley oddly enough, shaking off his defeat last night to become #1 contender. He can beat Lesnar and then there's Strowman now looking for a title shot. They could even play off the MMA backgrounds for both men.

I'm actually on board with Lesnar and Lashley. I think they could put together a good fight with their backgrounds.
As for tonight, I was pulling for, in order:
1) Big E 2) Lashley 3) Cesaro
And they got bounced first. Seeing New Day rally around another member would be fun to see. Would be even funnier if they tried to throw all these obstacles in front of E like they did with Kofi, but since he's such a huge strong guy, he easily steamrolls everybody, making Brock more and more nervous.

Other than the Same ol' Shit battle royal there did seem to be a hint of freshness to the show. They gave guys mic time to actually attempt to get stuff over, you had Ricochet briefly tease something with Brock and later attack AJ to backup what he'd said earlier, and damn near everything had a point.
Despite Rollins win and horrid promo this didn't seem too bad.

I'm starting to feel about Seth the way I felt about Shawn Michaels in 1996. That is to say, I just want every heel to wreck his shit.
