www.youtube.com/watch?v=entOf3-gbbwAnyone know if this was on the Free for All before the show or at the start of the PPV? It hasn't been included on any U.S. releases of the show, going back to the 1998 VHS version (it was included on the UK home video from Silvervision).

It was the start of the main show, like it usually is. This was just a much shittier rendition.

Man, DX Band was the Ogdenville Outlet Mall version of Rage Against the Machine. They were literally a RATM tribute band.

Jim Johnston's only live WWE appearance as far as I recall He played in the ring with the DX band at Summerslam 1998 during Triple Hs entrance. It wasn’t bad enough to get cut out of all future showings of that show.

Still better than pit bull Flo Rida, lunch man Lewis and the Marley who isn’t Damien’s performance a few years back

Jim Johnston's only live WWE appearance as far as I recall He also played Raw on the roof. Just those two times. Also, the only two songs you can hear his actual vocals on are the original Smackdown theme and the Dude Love theme. When I interviewed him, he didn't mention this. I can't get a screen capture of it but I just watched it again and I swear that's him standing to the right of the drums. He's the older guy who looks terribly out of place and then makes a bee-line out of the ring when the rest of the DX band smashes their gear. Strangely, being the older guy who looks terribly out of place he also is the coolest looking person in the ring. 1998 fashion sucked.

Is it weird that RATM, a band with only 2 albums at that point, already had a tribute band?
Maybe it isn't weird, but I would think more established acts would get the tribute band treatment.
