Alabama is history! They don't deserve to be in the College Football playoff this year, LSU is going to kick Georgia's grits next week and Ohio State is expected to slaughter Wisconsion in Indy, but it's going to be a Mad Mad Mad Mad championship weekend, if Alabama somehow someway gets in the CFP, the CFP can KISS MY GRITS, I made a Alice (the sitcom from the 1970s) reference

There's no way Alabama gets in. Assuming Clemson and Ohio St. win, they'll be in along with the winner of LSU/Georgia. The question is who gets in between winner of Oklahoma/Baylor or Utah if the win the Pac-12. If Georgia wins though, one loss LSU may still get in over any of those. Bama's done though.

In a couple of weeks will be the Heisman Ceremony, where they waste an hour to tell us what we already know. Just give Burrow the Heisman right now, and don't waste everybody's time.

Ya know.... I think LSU beats Georgia and Baylor beats OU. Which means Utah beating Oregon would mean they'd be in. And honestly, I think they'd be a tough match-up for OSU. I think they'd keep it within 10 points. But LSU likely jumps to #1 with a win over Georgia and beats them by 30. That likely 2/3 match-up of LSU or OSU against Clemson is gonna be a bloodbath. Georgia wins, they're in and OSU takes the top spot. OU beats Baylor and they're in on name value, which is bullshit because I really think Utah would smoke them.

I don't see Utah getting in. If Baylor beats Oklahoma they'll have avenged their only loss, and OU is a better loss than USC. It would also be peak Pac-12 if Utah lost to Oregon and made the discussion irrelevant, but I don't think they get in with a win either unless they do an OSU-Wisconsin and win 59-0.
Alabama dropping all the way to 12 in the CFP rankings means there's a very strong chance that they don't even go to a NY6 bowl. How many people are going to sit out for the Tide if that happens? They might lose a chunk even for the Sugar or Orange Bowl or wherever they go if they manage to sneak in, but I can't see any immediate NFL prospects wanting to suit up for the g-d Citrus Bowl.

Oklahoma would also have 2 wins over Baylor, and a win at Oklahoma State (still ranked in CFP). The Big XII winner gets in if LSU wins. If Georgia wins, then there's the possibility that LSU gets the 4th spot with the season they've had. Utah just doesn't have the resume to match the Big XII winner. Oklahoma will have 3 ranked wins with 2 over Baylor and one at Oklahoma State. Baylor would have 2 ranked wins, with 1 over Oklahoma (avenging their only loss) and Oklahoma State, also a win over a good K-State team. Utah would have 1 ranked win, which would be the Conference Championship. I think that Utah's on the outside looking in, unless Clemson loses.

I know it won't happen but damn it, I want Wisconsin to pull off a miracle. I think Ohio State would still be in the Playoff. To go undefeated in the regular season with wins over Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Penn State, and at Michigan, I think the committee has them penciled in. And 3 of those 4 wins were complete domination, and they beat Penn State and Michigan back to back.

Utah just looks like a much better team than OU. OU has a defense that will be gashed by any top 4 team. They gave up 31 to Houston, 27 to Texas, 31 to Baylor in a half, 41 to ISU, and 48 to K State. And let's be honest, K State took their foot off the gas because they were beating OU badly. They wanted the moment of beating OU, and once they got up by 25 in the 4th quarter they were celebrating more than playing hard. They ran 8 plays between going up 48-23 and (not) recovering the onside kick to seal it at the end. They passed the ball one time despite Thompson completing 65% of his passes with no INTs. They were having success running the ball and it's hard to quantify how hard a team is trying, but watching the game, K State was coasting. I honestly think if they cared about the scoreboard as much as just getting the W over OU, they could have won by 2-3 scores. Do I really want to see Ohio St put 60 on OU? No. Baylor has played close with almost everyone in their conference. ISU and WVU games were a combined 5 point margin of victory, Texas Tech was double OT, TCU was triple OT, and blew a big lead at home against OU.

The Bahamas Bowl was the first bowl to get its teams set; Charlotte and Buffalo. BYU also accepted an invite from the Hawaii Bowl, which sort of complicates matters given that Hawaii usually accepts the invite by default, but they're in the Mountain West Championship.

Here's how I envision championship weekend and the College Football Playoff playing out. 1. Ohio State (beats Wisconsin, goes to 13-0) 2. LSU (beats Georgia, goes to 13-0) 3. Clemson (beats Virginia, goes to 13-0) 4. Georgia (loses to LSU, falls to 11-2) 5. Utah (loses to Oregon, falls to 11-2) 6. Oklahoma (beats Baylor, goes to 12-1) 7. Baylor (loses to Oklahoma, falls to 11-2) I believe it'll be (1) Ohio State vs. (4) Oklahoma and (2) LSU vs. (3) Clemson in the College Football Playoff. The Bahamas Bowl was the first bowl to get its teams set; Charlotte and Buffalo. BYU also accepted an invite from the Hawaii Bowl, which sort of complicates matters given that Hawaii usually accepts the invite by default, but they're in the Mountain West Championship. I feel like I say this every season, but college football bowl names have gotten especially stupid this year. Who's ready for the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl or the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl?

If the score in the Pac-12 Championship Game holds up, then tomorrow's Big XII Championship Game likely becomes a de facto College Football Playoff play-in game. Because the winner of that game will leapfrog Utah and Georgia (provided LSU wins the SEC Championship Game) into the playoff.
