Goldeneye Starts u off with a nice WIIIDE shot of a dam and a guy running ...of course it is 007 but can't quite be sure of that yet and then he starts putting on this harness and all this other stuff and you realize...he is about to jump....nawwww they wouldn't. And then in IMO the single most breathtaking shot in any bond film he jumps...aaaaaaaaaaand he is falling.....and falling.....still falling phew he made it And then we finally get to see bond for the first time....upside down in a bathroom stall usual bond fair shooting up goons and quips along with a new wrinkle in the bond history we get to see another 00 agent working alongside bond And then more usual bond fare shooting more goons HOLY SHIT HE DIVED OFF THE END OF THE RUN AWAY ON A BIKE TO REACH A FALLING PLANE! all while the facility explodes in the background All before the opening title...that aint just an opening that is a spectacle NOW CUE THE GAWD DAMN AMAZING INTRO! All the Bond movies usually start with a bang, but this was the new EXTREEEEEME!!! Bond of the 90s. lol

Another one I forgot about is Batman from 1989. The way he just swoops down on those robbers on the rooftop gives me chills. I can only imagine how people seeing it for the first time felt.

The Warriors: (1979)
Pure 70's grit and grime that helps set up the main story and introduce the major players.
(language warning)
Rocky 3: (1982)
The typical Rocky Recap of the end of the previous film followed one of the best montages in the series.

Saw it at the drive-in when I was six. You could not escape Batman that year. My mom and dad told me we were going to see Batman that weekend, and every commercial for the movie that week was just hyping me up more and more. Then that music hits and you see the logo and title, my eyes had to be the size of dinner plates.

All stand in awe of the simplistic but classic:
20th Century Fox Logo with fanfare
“A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...”
Cue John Williams, title and epic 3 paragraph scroll.
Pan down to a planet with one ship being chased by a HUGE one that just seems to go forever.
What can I say? Just... perfect

True Lies. You can't beat Arnold coming in with scuba gear from under frozen water and having a tux on underneath and then doing a tango with Tia Carrere, and then blowing up something. Not on topic, but that movie was f***ing wonderful, and that a sequel was never made is a crime. Why would it need a sequel?

I have only one problem with this, and it's toward the end of the scene. Optimus Prime, in the middle of battle, is explaining to the Autobots that there are other Autobots scattered across the galaxy. Why would the Autobots not already know this? Also, as he is explaining it, the Autobots are ALREADY boarding escape ships and flying off instead of listening to their leader. As for the movie itself, I loved it, but why did all the Transformers have normal names (for Transformers anyway) yet Bumblebee was called B-127 like he was some kind of science experiment or something until a human named him.

The ending was perfect. Original theatrical cut of Star Wars is the film I would choose to show someone who asked for an example of a perfectly paced movie beat-for-beat. That or Casablanca.

Touch of Evil is usually brought up here, and I have a hard time disagreeing.

From the notes of Micheal Penn's sad melody to the first cut in the oneer the opening of "Boogie Nights" is a thing of beauty.

Terminator 2 Judgment Day.
Opening is a shot of people on the street on a busy day, then flashes forward to the future after Judgment Day with skeletons in cars.
You see the Resistance fighting Skynets machines with a shot of a rugged John Connor.
Then a voice over by Sarah Connor about how a machine tried to go after her in 1984. Now Skynet tries to kill John again but this time as a kid.
Another warrior is sent back again to protect John. It just mattered who go to him first.
Fire appears on the screen, then boom Terminator 2 Judgment Day title card.
It's the best movie opening I have ever ever ever ever seen!
(Sorry so long lol)

Just beats out Raiders as my favourite of the series.
Everything about this is fantastic, it's a pity the rest of the movie is such a let down.
