Personally, I think we're better off not obsessing over celebrities anyway, but that's just me, and I understand other people are going to feel different. But to me, celebrities in general losing their relevance can only be a good thing. Nah,you are right. People shouldn't care about celebrities at all it creates a really unhealthy culture where not only our opinions, time and affection is wasted on people that don't know or care about X thing And it creates that big waste of money that is Hollywood.not saying movies shouldn't cast that much but so many big events with so much money basically going nowhere and so many actors being paid much more then probably deserved.

Okay, serious answer: Uncle Kracker. Only ever knew who he was due to that shitty X-Factor theme back in 2001, then he got arrested in 2007, and hasn't released an album since 2012. The most recent news about him was just releasing a single last year. I’d swear Uncle Kracker went country a few years back, and I thought he was regularly putting out music since then

How about all the Harry Potter kids not named Emma Watson?

How about all the Harry Potter kids not named Emma Watson? Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton have been keeping busy at least. And Robert Pattinson probably counts since he was Cedric Diggory.

How about all the Harry Potter kids not named Emma Watson? Honestly Rubert Grint's sitcom Sick Note was probably the best thing any of them did post-Harry Potter.

Considering he was the lead actor in a beloved sitcom, Joel McHale's done little since Community. "Doing little" perfectly describes his role as Card Sharks host.

But to me, celebrities in general losing their relevance can only be a good thing. This. I will never understand what people get out of knowing what celebrity is dating who, or who is pregnant, etc. Who cares? What do you get out of it? You're not going to be invited to the wedding or anything. Why do shows like ET and Extra need to exist? And about the Jenner thing, why wouldn't I reject somebody for who they support? If I find out a friend or family member is a racist or supports NAMBLA or something, guess what? I'm rejecting that shit. See I just say as long as they don't hurt others or hurt me, they can believe whatever. Just keep me out of it. OTOH...if we rejected everyone we don't agree with, we'd all be hermits. P.S. ALL beliefs and opinions can lead to people acting harmful.

It used to be when your career was drying up you'd go on game shows and tv guest spots. Or if you were an actress around a certain age in the 80s or 90s you posed for playboy or arsty nude photos. Now it seems you either become a political commentator, do oops shots for publicity, or get into a feud with another person.

Russel Brand was all over everything in 2011, then he pretty much faded into irrelevance. Yeah, he was pretty big. Thankfully, I haven't heard about him in years until this thread.

This thread seems to highlight that truly talented celebrities don't fade into obscurity, unless it's a personal choice.
One note C-listers and controversial figures becoming irrelevant shows they didn't really have all that to begin with.
I don't see Tom Hanks or Tom Cruise fading into irrelevance any time soon. Madonna is still going strong at 60. Lady Gaga and Beyonce have had more than 3 decades of success between them.

Does Sam Worthington count?
Was the lead in two of the biggest movies the same year than vanished without a trace

I’m going with Wayne Knight. It seemed like he was in every major 90’s thing Basic Instinct, Jurassic Park, JFK, Seinfeld....then the clock struck midnight on 2000 and he turned into a pumpkin?
Never see him anymore aside from the occasional Seinfeld thing.

Yeah I realised I hadn't put in crashed and burned due to personal criminal choices or other vices.

Considering he was the lead actor in a beloved sitcom, Joel McHale's done little since Community. Well, there was the Joel McHale Show last year, which was produced or directed by Paul Feig and it was on Netflix.
