From what I know now it was an overdose. He had been having substance abuse problems with prescription pills for a while now, on top of the pain medication he was taking after suffering injuries from a fire.
I hadn’t been able to keep in touch with Chris as well as I’d liked to over the last couple of years, he’d become distant from my uncle/his dad. Though me and Chris were always tight personally until today. I remember all of the love he brought into the family when he was first born, back when I was just eight.
He loved sports and soccer, and was a genuinely cool and bright person. Right now I’m just incredibly numb, on top of the rest of the family being distraught.
RIP Chris. I hope wherever you’re now, you know how loved you were. When you told me to be more confident in myself, I never forgot that.
